Domestic release for SYD - MEL for Easter Thursday (next Thu).
D3 approved
I2 approved.

I genuinely find it annoying sometimes that theres more J available to release than Y. Still not going to complain. Works out to be 1.8c per pt against even a Y cash ticket - which is what I would've bought.

(the dumb part is I actually want to go to Avalon, but I'm not about to pay $350+ for a JQ one way).

Requested 1x U for MEL-DEL at J9C9D9I5, declined. Was instead able to book MEL-SYD-BLR online (could see availability when logged in as Plat), which at least gets me to the right country. Sadly, no reward seats on Indigo for the onward connection. They used to be really plentiful.

I did get a Dec 24 date quite late for 1 x family last year, so may try again for just the one. Better than both of us up the back.

What was the "business sale" availability . That seems a better indicator of seat release rather than number of "i" seats.

I generally wait a week and call again. The droid / manual review is a lottery

I already have a LAX-MEL-BNE conx initially via an A380 but have been burnt 3 times in the lat year by signifigant delays ( i asume due to engineering / maintenance isssues on this a/c). 787 much more reliable and , of course, direct. Still I cant complain, I am able to get home.

Expert Flyer was showing I class available for the 12th, but no I class available on the 10th, however both got approved.

BTW is there somewhere that I can look up how many points are needed for a seat before ringing the priority line and asking for the seats to be released? On some routes (e.g. HKG-SYD) there often aren't any seats available on any dates for months to use to get the data.
