Latest Velocity BP Fuel Offers

I smell a conspiracy theory somewhere folks....

Activated the 300 points offer the day it came in. Filled my car yesterday with BP Ultimate, and swiped my Red Velocity membership card. The terminal displayed "Velocity card stored" so I paid and went on my merry way. When I got home, I noticed the docket had no points, so membership data or anything relating to points earn. In hindsight, I should have checked in store and requested action, but the terminal display had clearly acknowledged my card.

This is where it got interesting. I rang Velocity, who confirmed activation, he couldn't figure what had gone wrong. Eventually he asked how old my card was. I said it was issued in 2009 when Velocity started, but was in excellent condition.

BINGO. Velocity then advised that only cards issued after 2011 would be accepted. It was a BP issue, not Velocity and therefore there was nothing they could do. He was very nice and offered a goodwill 100 points contribution, which he applied immediately. The gesture was appreciated, but I'm still bummed that I missed the other 200.

That's a pretty significant provision right there, which I might add does NOT appear in the T&C's. Onya BP.............

How can they claim this is a BP issue, the card is issued by Velocity, they advertise all over the place that you can use your card at BP to get points. If the instrument that THEY have provided doesn't work then they should replace it. Can they point to any T&C's or other notice that you should upgrade your card?

I got a 300 point offer to use their overpriced 98 fuel. Wonder if I'll bother - tomorrow is the last day. No minimum spend at least so a couple of litres then the usual fill. Price is too high at present though at about $1.24 for 91.

I attempted to do the 98 offer with a few litres when 91 was $1.26. Machine refused to read my Velocity card on multiple attempts. Finally did a full tank on Monday when the 98 was at $1.21. (91 @$1.04).

Update: Further to a previous poster's suggestion, I checked to see if I still had my Global Wallet card. I know that Velocity had gifted 100 points for the inconvenience, so my offer may have been rescinded. But I was still peeved, so I went back to BP today and bought, yes folks - $4 of Ultimate fuel. I basically squeezed the trigger and released it. Then, I casually strode up to the counter and swiped my Global Wallet card face down. I paid my $4 with another card and requested a docket. I wanted to ensure the system recognized the Velocity number, so I didn't actually pay with the Global Wallet.

Sure enough, I had earned points!!!! Six points to be exact.

Not sure if I have qualified still, but at least I can say I did my best to grab those 300 bonus bad boys. Although - upon reflection, I could just have easily spent $600 at a clothing store and actually enjoyed myself.......

Got the double points offer tonight just after I put a few drops of overpriced stuff today for the 300 points. Filled up with the other stuff though so will be hard pressed to make full use of the latest offer unless I go for a serious drive this weekend.

Bonus points to be credited within 5 weeks of 31 March. So now we have gone 6 weeks after 31 March and no signs of the bonus points. Has anyone received these bonus points yet?

I have not received any bonus points from the last 3 offers they provided me. I registered, received the confirmation, and each receipt had the points earned (and credited to my account correctly in due course).

Has BP stopped rounding up points? I filled up 47.50 litres and receipt shows 94 points rather than 96.
