Yep learned something new today. The showers look remarkably similar to the "shower suites" of the Flagship lounge

They are pretty similar with the flagship ones being a little bigger? The flagship showers are nothing extra special over the admirals showers. In fact there's been times where the flagship showers were all in use but the admirals had showers available so I went out to the admirals for a shower instead.

How did you get back into Flagship as it required an access card which the lounge dragons demand you hand over upon entry.

Coriander I have checked again and you are right

Given I took those photos in the Admirals Club in October 2015 , I didn't have much doubt that I was probably right  !

Seriously though, I've used those showers in Jan 2012, Mar 2013, Jan 2014 and Jan 2015 so they're not a recent addition. I'm only a lowly SG (till July), so have never stepped into the hallowed halls of the Flagship Lounges.

It looks remarkably similar to the Flagship lounge as does the showers.
Just a lot more people and probably less food and drink offering. Based on this the differences are not significant.

For some reason i have always thought that Admirals club did not have showers. Lamenting the numerous times I could have had a shower after arrival in T4 from a long transpac flight and I didn't because I thought it was only a quiet place to sit and a few drinks and peanuts.

Anyway now we can use the QF/OW TBIT J/F lounge on arrival when connecting to an AA/OW flight

Yes. Reportedly there will be a new security point that opens post immigration to get you back airside.

For now you still have to go back via T4 (or TBIT) but can use the corridor to flip between (technically you are using the lounge as a departure lounge)

Top floor of the connector building I believe. The SSCP there will then drop you back into the tunnel. It could become a quicker way to get into TBIT than the main SSCP on the mezzanine level above check in which can be a zoo at times.

Aah, so arriving into TBIT on QF11 and transferring to T4 for onwards AA flights domestically, you still have to exit TBIT and walk along the footpath to T4?

I'll be interested to see progress when we fly into LAX this Thursday.

At the moment I believe so..
Alternately if you have a boarding pass you can turn around and go back through TBIT security, into the lounges, and then use the new T4-TBIT connector
