re: Le Club Instant PLatinum Sign Up

This is genuinely true but sometimes you come across a hotel that does recognise Plats.

I recently stayed at the Mercure in Potts Point Sydney and was upgraded to a large suite + they treated me like royalty. Similarly the Novotel in Suva were extra attentive and the Novotel in Nadi gave me a free bottle of red on two separate occasions.

However, this is very hit and miss; most of the Accor properties don't regconise you at all!

I can also vouch for this. I've had room upgrades at several Mercure's, Grand Mercure's and Novotel's in Australia, Thailand and the UK. Some have also left a welcome gift/package - wine, bathrobes etc. I've stayed at the Novotel St Kilda twice and got nothing from them however.

Hey peeps,

If I book a mercure hotel in sydney via webjet, will I get the advantages of the platinum card if I call up and attach my membership number?

Has anyone tried?

Cheers

Generally no, are they cheaper than direct?

How would I go about getting a status match with lets Hilton or PC considering I need to stay with a Accor property to get a physical platinum?

They send out the cards without staying now. Or just stay at the Ibis in Melbourne for $55 with breakfast during the current sale.

re: Le Club Instant PLatinum Sign Up

As a newbie to hotels/airline frequent flyer etc. I am happy to receive my first platinum. Thank you markis10 for this information.

Watch out, you'll have your first taste then be addicted!

I signed up for SPG and Accor years ago as gold promos, I've dropped the accor but meticulously plan my stays to keep my SPG at gold.

What the heck, I'll sign up for this one just in case .... after all I have a gmail account with many combinations possible :)

I stayed at Sofitel Xian with this card and they gave me nothing.

re: Le Club Instant PLatinum Sign Up

Given these are given out to anyone who wants one, it really doesn't recognize loyalty or the amount of business that they get from you. So, it is no surprise many places are not giving any recognition as they would be giving out bonuses and upgrades to everyone who walks through the door, which is clearly not going to work. What I have noticed is that the places you have stayed at several times usually always recognize your status level. I guess you have proved yourself by coming more than once.

re: Le Club Instant PLatinum Sign Up

Does the requalify with Accor occur at the end of the calendar year, or on the anniversary date of when you received the card, or anniversary of when you were upgraded to your current status level?

My upgrade to Platinum from a previous thread is coming to an end and I have only achieved Gold on my own; so I may need to take advantage of this link depending on the answer to the above question.

Thanks in advance,

JV
