Does look like it validates with Amex either. I just tried to sign up and have been confirmed Platinum but don't actually have a Plat Amex.

Doesn't look like being Platinum offers many benefits at Accor hotels though?

Accelerated points earning really the only benefit above gold.

Still works, just used it sign up while sitting in my room at Novotel Parramatta!

What promotional code did you enter, or just followed the link and left that field blank?

Thanks for that. +1 signed up. Now to figure out what it gets me.

Not a lot, really. Check the website, but generally later checkout at MGallery, Pullman, Sofitel, a gift at Adagio if staying 10 days or more and I think 25% bonus points.

Thanks to all of you who contributed to this thread. I joined up (again) this morning and since this is my first hotel platinum card I wouldn't mind taking my family to one of their hotels in Australia, are there any that really stand out?

You can't go wrong with Sofitel in SYD/MEL.

BNE and Broadbeach don't participate (grrr... Shouldn't be allowed in the group!)

Looks like Inver's location is listed as Sydney so they may not want to go Sofitel in Syd. Dont know what Mel is like and yes, the QLD ones dont participate but if you want to come to BNE then the Pulman is very nice and handy to the CBD. I stay there quite often

Anyone had any experience with the Mercure in Melbourne (on Little Bourke St)

Not expecting much, but interested to know whether the recognise status.

I'm a Silver Accor Club member, with about 14 nights in 4 cities coming up, and booked under the current number.

If I were to re-join under the 'current' Platinum sign-up (I have spare e-mail etc to be able), does anyone know if I can change current, pre-paid bookings over to the Platinum membership number?

Checked in tonight for the first time in BNE... WTF... an entire stay can be ruined if I can't attribute it to a loyalty scheme. First and last stay
