Flew CDG >SIN, in Y!/before AFFer, and on arrival at SIN, my bag handle broke. In my sleep deprive fugue I thought I had to buy a new bag at Changi but thankfully, after a transit hotel nap, realized I could make do until I got home the next day but if it was at the start of my trip, I would have looked at the bags.Perhaps not so outrageous....but duty free stores airside that sell suitcases/cabin roller bags. What? Why? I've always found it baffling.
Passengers are already airside with their cabin luggage. Now unless a catastrophe occurs and that bag breaks and need an emergency replacement, does anyone purchase these? Would you have to gate check it? Do airlines allow for an extra bag if its duty free and treat it like any other duty free? Or are they just there to fill up floor space.
Occassionally I will look at the Tumi bags but the prices, Oy vey, the prices!
