Life Time Gold - The [Realistic] Holy Grail

Congratulations. Do you feel enhanced by LTG? ;)

My current bookings will take me to 13,000 SCs by the end of the year so I expect to get to LTG next year. I hope QF's lifetime exceeds mine.

Are any of the AFF LTGs female? Anyone?

Trying hard:). I will be 10,000 by the end of the year. I was thinking 2016 would see LTG, but it might take a year or two longer....

Nope, but I made LTS this year and if I keep flying at the same rate will be LTG in another ~3 years or so!

2700 SCs for me to go. Hopefully I will hit it next year.

Then I have a hard choice:
- Stay with QF to earn Plat?
- Move?
- AA: Good earning/burning
- BA: My favourite Airline
- AB: Lots of travel with then, but will they be around next year?
- AY: Lifetime Emerald - but what about AY lifetime?

Congratulations boomy!

I am not that far away from Lifetime Gold either but I can assure you I will not be celebrating the achievement with 2 x JQ flights....

I prefer to look at the JQ flight as a bitter pill I need to swallow to enjoy some domestic Flounging...

The first one was to celebrate LTG and the second is to show the lounge to my Sydney business partner who flys VA :)

I face some tough choices as well now.

I signed for AA this week but still not sure where to channel all my AMEX, QFF, Hhonors, SPG & Hertz points.

Well done boomy, its an achievement.

So once you achieve LTG, does that mean you only ever need 1200 SC's to maintain platinum every year?

Thats my plan.

Have already put it into action........booked a few J class flights to take advantage of the recent DSC offer. However, once I did the numbers & realized I didn't need them to break the 14, 000 barrier - I cancelled.

AY lifetime Emerald is probably not attainable for many... But if you earn it... Fantastic!

You only need 1,200 SCs and the four ~ flights to maintain WP every year anyway.

Don't forget that the four ~ flights will still be required once you've attained LTG.

ah ok thanks.

But hypothetically..once you achieve LTG, then say you don't fly on QF at all for say two years. In the year you return to flying, do you only need to attain 1200 SC's? + 4~'s ?

I reckon you'd have to get the original 1,400 plus four ~ flights.

LTG means you don't drop below SG. It doesn't make higher levels easier to attain.

Ahh whoops yes sorry I was thinking of SG level, you'd only need the 600Sc's any year, not the 700 again.

Once LTG is reached your status will be at least SG for either the life of the current QFF program or your life , no matter how little you may fly.

If you ever drop to SG, you would need the four ~ flights and 1,400 SC's to reachWP again.

A very astute member here once suggested that LTG should entitle you to a head start on WP... But Qantas doesn't listen. Nor do they care.
