Life Time Gold - The [Realistic] Holy Grail

So close, not that it means much other than perhaps the removal of golden handcuffs...

Almost there - still worth having, even if it is just for domestic and to tuck away for the future. I like the fact that I can fly whoever I like internationally, but still have Sapphire status if I want to fly a oneworld airline. e.g. American airlines where flying F domestically doesn't give you lounge access.

Lifetime Gold is Gold. Very glad MrP made it last year.

oh I like the idea of an "instant" 600 SC for LTG's. That's a good one..........

Me too. That would definitely help me stay on QF and OW flights after I make LTG.

I fly enough that I really enjoy having status with a couple of alliances. It sort of means that wherever I end up in the world there is usually a flight option where I have lounge access, etc. At the moment I split my flights between two main programs - for One World I use QF (because I love them :) ) and in Star Alliance I use LifeMiles (via Avianca) because I am based in Colombia and Avianca is the main airline there. I am Diamond with Lifemiles which is equivalent to P1 in QF. LifeMiles has a LTG/LTP equivalent which they call Cenit - but you have to be over 60 yrs old to qualify, among other things! Am not there yet!!

I have purchased tickets that will take me over the QF LTG line. And it already feels weird. And now I am looking at tickets to Europe from Colombia and suddenly I realise that I can look further than the usual AA/IB/BA options. Because I am already requalified WP with QF, and have LTG in the bag, any further SC I earn this year with OW flights are worth zero to me.

I do wish there was a LTP with QF, but strangely, this not being the case, suddenly I feel free :)

Your your really saying is P1. ( not worth the effort)?

Agree re status on multiple alliances. Having LTG with QF so OW covered and working towards LTG on UA (ugh) gives Star Gold it covers much of the world air routes in one way or another.

I have been very quiet on AFF recently, but who else can I share with who would actually care that I hit LTG yesterday?

Boarded QF537 in BNE yesterday on 13998 lifetime SC's, and disembarked LTG.:)

First hit WP in 2009, 5 years from there to LTS, and with increased international travel in recent times only took 2.5 years from LTS to LTG.
