Oh there you are looking like you are really enjoying it - the Royal wave I see though that sand dune looks a doozy. The camel looks very fetching - gorgeous eye lashes.

And I hear you are off to Japan Dame!

I'm going to Singapore in 3 weeks with my friend from HKK (a short RCI cruise and a few days in SIN) so a nice break. Mr LtL and I are flying into Tokyo in the first week of November and then will come home via HKK. Nothing overly exciting.
Did you see that one of the regular posters over on CC got a really super price on QM2 BNE - HKK including gratuities and OBC. Sob Sob.....They were posting about what to do in Kota Kinabalu.

Groan. I'd like another one. 2017? Nothing planned for that year. YET!!!

Which thread btw- Cunard? Aussie?

Up to now we have had zero interest in visiting Dubai, but after this report I think I am a convert - looks like fun for some R & R.

I was the same but our brief trip in July made us rethink.

At times you think - is this way too much? And at other times, you just embrace it.

There are still parts we want to go back and see. We didnt really see Deira area and the Creek. Abu Dhabi also on the list. But we will be returning for work probably around August - September so that will certainly happen.

We didn't experience any issues you are warned about. We were carrying 'banned' medications but had the original scripts. Never saw any indication at immigration we needed to show anything. But you can buy anything - eg pseudoephedrine - sudafed - OTC for less than $2. Always experienced politeness from the locals. Taxis were clean and honest. Felt very safe - walking about amongst the throngs on NYE and never felt any concerns about being robbed etc.

The weather at this time of the year was fabulous. Even that day of rain was unique and a rest day but back to blue sky the next.

Alcohol flows very freely in Hotel Club/Executive lounges and is highly recommended. The food - wonderful Arabic, Indian, Asian influences. Wonderful spices.

Very nice trip report Pushka!

Some very lovely photos and commentary. Looks like you both had a great time.

Still no desire to visit Dubai.

I use a combo iphone and panasonic lumix DX200 for the zoom shots. Its called a superzoom as zooms in without needing to change lenses. No need to a tripod as it has a function that reduces hand movement.
Check Graham Houghton on youtube - he has produced some great instructional videos on it.
I love it.

Thanks for your speedy reply.
Did you mean the FZ200? Maybe the numbering is different in other countries. The DZ200 I saw on the internet was for a documentary making video camera. Definitely wouldn't fit in my handbag!
Yours looks great and fits all my requirements except for size. I love the tilt-swivel screen, the viewfinder, the sensor size and the zoom. And I really like the quality of photos it takes.

Ah. Fat fingers. D is next to F on the phone. It is the smaller camera. Surprisingly easy to hold without a tripod at full zoom. Heavier than the small point and shoot but still lightweight compared with interchangeable lens cameras.

The photos above were taken a long way way.

Taken at normal and full zoom held by hand. One of my favs, along with the shopping centre pics you reposted above sinophile.

Enjoy your cunard experience.

Yes, it's FX200 (because I purchased one after seeing some of Pushka's photos  )

How are you going with it? Maybe we need a photography thread separate from The Office one?

I have not been anywhere holiday wise to use it. I do get some great close-ups of the kangaroos that frequent the paddocks surrounding the house, and variety of birds.

One of the reasons for the handbag thread was for carrying the camera. Have also purchased the Black Rapid sports 2 camera strap.

Our next trip DXB/TLV/AMM/SSH/HBE/CAI/LUX/ASW/ABS/IST/DOH/AUH/HKG will give it a "REAL" work out.
