Previously on my don't fly list.

Still on my don't fly list.

Glad pax and crew (apparently) all ok.

If they aren't on the EU no fly list... surely they will be there soon.

They couldn't get into IATA because of safety concerns... They don't even fly to Europe and after this probably will not for a very long time...

I don't know much about the Airline but when wikipedia mentions in the first couple of paragraphs that their pilots have been caught with Crystal Meth... It just makes me wonder how they got the money to buy so many planes in such a short time.

Up to 45 injured but thankfully no fatalities.

Lion Air plane skids into sea in Bali; 45 injured

Well it appears they are already banned in EU airspace.

Yet another airline with culture and management issues. People moan and groan about qantas, but at least they aren't planting planes in the sea rather than the landing strip...

Entertains me that a number of media sources, including Sky News, announced that the plane was operating from London.

Surely at least one person in these media offices would know that a 737 doesn't fly half way across the world. Disgusts me how little research is done into reporting these days.

From reports the plane was a 737-800 registered as PK-LKS and was delivered 2 months. It flew for a month under Malindo Air before being returned to its parent Lion air. A domestic flight from Bandung to DPS.

It's first flight was just over two months ago, early Feb. Lion Air began operations just over two weeks, end Mar.

I can only assume that their insurance costs must be increasing rapidly. Its one thing buying a lot of new aircraft, but the insurance costs may exceed the lease costs soon.

Interesting to see the wingtip damage which is odd. The airline recently had four pilots sacked for being crystal meth users, they have intentions of expanding to Australia but doubt they will be allowed.

Glad that everyone is OK.

Well I guess that they will need everyone of the 200+ Boeing airframes that they have on order!

Despite the fact they're sat in water (so there shouldn't be a flame), I did wonder the same.

I would disagree on that no water means no flame - get enough of an energy source on the water and they may well be fire

All i will say is www.eaglejet.com. Captain experoenced How many hrs in FO Book? Pilots paying to fly this baby ?

Sometimes the grass though!

Fuel is lighter than water. Ergo, fuel will float on top of the water, and burn.

I recall my FB friend telling me how the RFS bought an old fuel tanker to use as a bulk water supply for fire fighting. Well, you imagine how that ended up. :)
