Load and spend to earn x,xx_ Qantas Points [Qantas Cash]

OK, finally discovered the reason my 5K points did not load. I loaded $1001 AUD worth of USD (actually they took $1000.99 out of my account). This was $905.50 USD. But my Qantas Case statement has the AUD equivalent of this as 965.55 AUD which as Qantas state is less than $1000 and hence no points.

They totally ignored my argument that until the statement is produced I have no way of knowing the AUD equivalent amount, I think I will be escalating to FOS, I just cant see how they can say that the AUD equivalent I loaded as $865 when I have a bank statement saying they took (considerably) more out of my bank than that.

I think I'm in the same boat. I loaded 525 GBP at a cost of over $1000 but no points. I emailed Qantas Cash Customer Service only to get a reply stating that all points inquiries have to go to the FF service desk!!! I'll have to find the original email to see if it was misleading advertising. I'm sick and tired of companies advertising something only to hide restrictions to the offer in the fine print that they know nobody will read.

Well it took a while and I eventually had to send an email to both Qantas Cash and Qantas FF that I had proof that I had paid in 1K and I'd had enough of them ignoring my complaint, fix it or I'd go to FOS. Funnily enough I had a call that day from both of them, it still took a while but I have my 5K points!!

What email addresses did you use for QantasCash and Qantas FF?

Got another one of these offers.
For a limited time only, register and load at least AU$1,000 equivalent directly in foreign currency[SUP]#[/SUP] in one transaction to receive 3,000 bonus Qantas Points**.

I don't really fancy putting another $1k on right now so unfortunately wont be taking it up.

Just received the email too but just back from Vietnam/Cambodia and the card needs topping up. Easy 3000 points:)

I got this too. Given it specifies load and not spend, couldn't you load the 1k and withdraw it from an ATM?

Edit: in my excitement, completely missed the "foreign" stipulation.

Yeah- foreign currency load. You edited as I was posting.

Not sure it is worth it for 3k points, the spread seems to grow each day. How many points do you get for a transaction?

Right now, if I was to go for SGD, I could get 1111 at an atm with my Citidebit or 1052 from Q cash. $53 SGD diff for 3k points...

Yeah, it seemed too easy when I read it as "any currency".

Pass.

I got the offer too but don't use foreign currency so can't use it. I'm guessing if I tried to arrange foreign currency the conversion rates would be higher than the value of the points gain.

My offer says "deposit in foreign currency* in one transaction.
Does that mean I need to change my default currency to a foreign one before I do the bank transfer so that the transfer is in a foreign currency
