My offer says "deposit in foreign currency* in one transaction.
Does that mean I need to change my default currency to a foreign one before I do the bank transfer so that the transfer is in a foreign currency

Do it through the "Load Funds" option on the website and load via BPay, make sure you use the BPAY code as indicated on the website.

Yeah got that part ok but does it need to go into my cash card account as $AUD or do I have to change my default currency to a foreign one so that it is deposited "in foreign currency "

Nope, when you finalise your load you'll get loading instructions with a specific payment reference. When Qantas Cash receives the payment, it knows what currency to assign it to to your Qantas Cash Card. I've just just done a test one and you can also load foreign via Bank Deposit.

From memory, you select the desired foreign currency as part of the load funds/BPay process when logged in to the Qantas cash site.

OK got it now. I don't usually use the load feature on Qantas Cash as I have my BSB number and unique account number and usually make the transaction from within my Banks website

Just received the email too but just back from Vietnam/Cambodia and the card needs topping up. Easy 3000 points:)
My brother received the same offer.

He has never been overseas, the exchange rates are poor and I don't need 3000 QFF points that badly to pay ~AUD50 to buy them.

Got another one of these offers.

I don't really fancy putting another $1k on right now so unfortunately wont be taking it up.

Same, but I won't be bothering since it requires me to convert to a foreign currency which is a pointless waste of money for me since I have fee free ATM and credit cards for forex.

So, just to have this situation clarified ...

If I were to be 'chasing' the 3,000 points on offer,
and I do the 'load funds in foreign currency' bit on the QANTAS Cash website ( and get the Reference number etc. ),
then go to my 'other' bank, and purchase say US Dollars, and deposit to the QANTAS Cash BSB account,
and the $1,000. exchange rate funds are then deposited into my QANTAS Cash account ...

I can then do an internal transfer back to $AUD myself, on my logged in page on QANTAS Cash ?

What would be the final cost ? ( roughly )

Is the expert opinion here, that the 'cost' of the above process is simply NOT worth 3,000 QFF points ??

Unless you are using the card anyway, any option to access the money is not worth it for the points alone.

In AUD to SGD you lose about 50-60AUD. Might as well pickup a BW CC for 30k points and $150 or something like that.

I got my 3k points as well.

Annoying the double points promotion doesn't apply to Australia Transactions but oh well, can't get bonus points on everything as I'm paying off Europe Holiday using Qantas Cash. Thanks Qantas for the offers, all the points come handy :D

Maybe I should cancel and take up again to collect the points??? Just used it o'seas and appears to be as good as others, can't say it is better but certainly had no problems with it.
