Voted LRE (how could I not?) and my second choice would be HBA.

And just for clarity my absolute last choice (don't think it should even be on the list) is ZQN (would love to visit, but not for a weekend, and not for the AFF yearly do).

I have commissioned Air NZ to make a video on each option, here is the first one on HBA (not really, but its a video overview of why do Hobart with the odd advertising) :)

Pretty light on the tourist content! That's about 45% "Hobart" content with the balance pitching for VA/NZ.

Cairns/Port Douglas?? Sheraton mirage PD or Hilton Cairns... plenty of other half decent shacks in the area and/or even an AFF chartered bertram/ship with scuba and snorkeling in outer reefs, beaches on remote islands, deep sea fishing, drinking, more drinking... Even DJ has a lounge in CNS (or is it still planned?)

CNS is a poll choice and has zero votes.

The DJ lounge has been announced I think, but not even started construction AFAIK.

The location 2nd most popular is a worry.

QF SIN - ZQN less than $1000 with stopovers allowed. Surely you could work a way to include that in your schedule.

And there is much more to do in ZQN and with a good exchange rate as well. And not to mention the Hilton.

Should be right up your alley

Lots to do, but would require more than a weekend, and taking into account usual flights timings, you'd be lucky to get a full day!

Not to mention, anyone staying at the Hilton is going to have troubles getting home at the end of the night, worst location. May as well stay at Millbrook... though you would be closer to Saffron then :p

Up to individuals how long they are going to stay. Some may decide to stay for a week or two, others for a day. But your dollar is going to go further in Queenstown than in Hobart.

I wouldn't stay at the Hilton myself. But some people have a predisposition for the Hilton, and the one in Queenstown can be very good value. If you have a rental car or are happy to catch the connecta bus or water taxi, which run till after 10Pm each night it is not such a problem.

One of the best things about Queenstown is that if you go at the right time of year there is an abundance of accommodation options at good prices.

Whilest I'm not going to vote as this always seems to fall on bad weekends for me (in oct for me I have Bathurst trip on one weekend plus fingers crossed a LAS/LAX trip the final two weekends) but there is an advantage with ZQN - the weekend can start with a nice big FLounge visit :)

I like that idea! What is the lounge like in ZQN for the return? In fact, is there one?
