I am going to guess the federal election will be Aug/Sept as "full-term" rarely means full term these days

The Melbourne Cup on Tuesday 5th November gives the Melbournians a possible long weekend.

The mean maximum temperature for October to December is 17.0, 18.7, 20.3.
The mean minimum temperature for October to December is 7.8, 9.3, 10.8.
The mean rainfall actually has October as the wettest month of the year, along with the mean most days of rainfall.

17-20 is kinda warm for HBA

My last time in HBA (circa 2006) was mid-October. Arrived Thursday to 33 degrees, hot northerlies and bushfires, only to be advised by the car rental guy that "the snow on Saturday will put the fires out". And snow it did!

I went to Hobart in mid November and it was very chilly at times. The days themselves were lovely but the night time temps were surprisingly chilly -- and this from a Canberran! Some terrific restaurants and bars though; and MONA down the Derwent is well worth a visit (as is its phenomenal restaurant).
