We are currently at 40K ft on SQ308 - Friday 17th suits us fine - still suit you Mal? Suggestions for locations? Again anywhere will suit us - I guess traditional English Pub would be the go would it not?

Note to Mal: Goodonya is allergic to prawns so we just need keep that in mind.
Let me know when you settle on a date and I will update the thread title.

Didn't notice any prawns on the menu. Should be fine
Did we settle on a time?

I'm flexible re time. Online reservations blocked for Friday night (Yes, Friday nights can be tough), but if agreeable I'll give them a call tomorrow and see if they can fit us in for 6/6:30/7.

Cannot be there CE as two of our work partners are on their annual holidays. Enjoy your hand picked shows like Kinky Boots with Mrs CE. I hope your Suites ride left you ready for more.

Thanks cove - R was perfect as always - did a visit upstairs to J and had a very pleasant surprise - will post in SQTTTs thread.

Mal 19:00 would suit us fine - we will make sure we are there a few mins early - am really looking forward to meeting you.

Goodonya looking forward to catching up again also mate - Cruiserette is dying to meet you - says she cannot believe a grown man would actually cry over one lousy rubbery prawn!

Re: London Dinner & Drinks June 16 and 21 2016

Tried calling the pub a few times today, but always going to answering machine. Sent email instead, and hopefully they'll confirm tonight or tomorrow. If they don't, will find another location shortly. (Fridays are a bit more difficult due to the usual end of week crowds!)

Just to refresh your memory CE, it was more the fact that I had ordered the spaghetti marinara, recommended to me by you I think, which was suppose to include prawns amongst other seafood. My discontent was due to the lack of prawns on my dish but the seeming abundance on penegal's plate. Anyway I've gone off prawns now.

At ORD now about to leave in a couple hours for LHR

Re: London Dinner & Drinks June 16 and 21 2016

OK booking confirmed. Four in the restaurant, at 7pm Friday 17th. Under the name Mal.

Re: London Dinner & Drinks June 16 and 21 2016

OK Cruiser mate. I just got a seat to Carol King musical for tonight from Leicester Sq ticket place (official one) for half price, nine rows from front, stalls, G9. 40 quid less than the on line sites :)
Since my hotel is literally next door to the Aldwych, would you and C'ette like to join me in the Exec Lounge for canapés and drinks before hand at 6 pm if you have time?

Mal if you're around join us for a quickie

Re: London Dinner & Drinks June 16 and 21 2016

Had a great time tonight (apart from the weather!) . Managed to get home with minimal dampage :)

Great to meet you Cruiser Elite (and Mrs Cruiser Elite), and likewise great to see GoodOnYa again. My meal was decent, and I hope you enjoyed yours. Wasn't really the pub experience I was hoping to give you (wanted more of a gastropub with a lovely steak selection), but was a great compromise, and I loved the table location.

Enjoy the rest of your time in London.

Mal was great to finally meet you also - and YES we had a ball - outlook over the river superb:

Was just a great night with great company for our last night in London - Mal did you notice Goodonya steered well clear of any dishes with prawns in them? Tks again for arranging Mal.

Re: London Dinner & Drinks June 16 and 21 2016

A minute to reflect whilst sitting in the JAL FLounge Haneda. Thanks again Mal for organising dinner in an old historic pub and a table next to the window with views. It was also good to meet C'ette for the first time the night before after seeing the Carole King musical Beautiful. And we were able to have dinner together that night where CE and C'ette enjoyed a chateaubriand together. How romantic they are together. Cruiser is such a softie when she is around
With the enthusiastic encouragement of Cruiser, myself and C'ette wre able to sing the entire repertoire from the musical we had just seen just for his enjoyment. We were hoping to stop (after a few bottles of wine) but Cruiser insisted on being entertained. He is such a lover of fine music. I reckon the more we drank the better we sounded. But hey, that's only my opinion

Sounds like one hell of an event...

Re: London Dinner & Drinks June 16 and 21 2016

You guys were singing? OMG how silly of me - I honestly thought it was a couple alley cats squabbling out the back! If that was singing please don't give up your day jobs!

As for the Chateaubriand - all 3 of us should have shared it as there was so much - however that meal was dwarfed by the 1kg Chuleton de buey at Asador del Carme in Valencis - pics will be uploaded when I get back to Oz.
