Here we are scraping the bottom of the barrel for accom, and you end up in the St Regis!

Yeah a great result for me. Sorry it didn't help anyone else on cheap NYC accommodation though.

The good thing with SPG's Best Rate program is you don't need to book first before submitting a claim, so when the promotion of "If you find a lower rate, then the room is free" was offered ... I sent away 10 claims away (without any loss to myself) .... It is no wonder they discontinued the promotion after around two days, as I can just imagine the flood of claims sent up.

The only place I know of less than $100 is upper West side YHA that may have a dorm bed in 4,share for under $100....was $50 in off season!
