looks like the business class crowd control has thankfully come to an end..

I believe I am extremely courteous by not even getting close to the carousel with any luggage. ;)

Do you mean you don't travel with check-in luggage? Unfortunately after many years of flying I still have not learned the art of packing light. Last week on a six day trip to Brisbane, my case weighed 20kgs.

:O

I could not imagine travelling on my own with 20kg luggage to check!

I only fly Y, but more often than not am in the front row so have a good view of J. Sometimes it feels like not only are J passengers allow off the aircraft before everyone else, but allowed to get to the bag carousel before the rest if us are even allowed off the plane. I have no problem with holding Y passengers, but it does seem excessive sometimes.
And don't get me started with carousel etiquette, especially after long haul flights...

Poor move in my view - not that I disagree with your point above - its more that this is the last kind of thing they should be doing given all the criticism their business class is currently receiving.

What criticism? Virgin's business class is epic!

Correct. Whilst I try to keep the weight under 7kg, sometimes it sneaks a little over.

Incidentally, I flew a QF 738 yesterday and today and they have a locker at the rear of the cabin labelled "crew baggage only". It looked like it had room for at least three average sized bags. And it was under utilised.

Forgive my cynicism but I suspect the crew bags were above the bulkhead rows!!!!!!!!....but everyone knew that's what I'd say!!! :D

I just moved that part of my post to the thread concerning that very topic. So many threads to keep up with!

LOL......and to go off topic completely what were you doing at the back of the plane?

A. I was stretching my legs
B. They wouldn't let me past the curtain
C. I went to chat to/up the FA
D. I needed the loo

select whichever most plausible

LOL It dawned on me immediately after posting that you may be "ahem" visiting rather than sitting at the rear of the aircraft.

They have a loo at the back of the aeroplane? Wow who gets to use that? Is it restricted to certain classes of pax?

I reckon the reason she was at the back of the plane was to see how many people were reclining.
