Background to this thread
We have noticed an increase in the posting of questions regarding what Airport Lounges are available at specific airports when travelling on specific airlines. While one can be assured of access at the airline lounge when travelling on that airline (provided you have Lounge membership), thing start to get complex when travelling on a codeshare or partner airline.

Posting Guidelines
Please post your questions about Lounge access in this thread. Be sure to include the airline you are travelling on, the airport (and terminal, if known), and any Airline Status or Airport Lounge membership programs you have.

When answering questions, please include the original question. This will assist in readability and management of the thread.

(Special thanks to Princess Fiona for suggesting this new thread.)

Hello brains trust!

Got a hypothetical for you. Myself and my partner are looking at booking QF2 > QF72 in J and would request an upgrade to F on QF2...

In the unlikely event we were lucky enough to be upgraded to F, would we have access to the Singapore F Lounge during our stopover despite the onward flight being in J?

Think the answer is going to be SOL but as I can’t see anything specific on the OneWorld website I thought I’d ask. Have the following for later in the year:

  • SIN-HND Y+, overnight flight
  • 5hr transit
  • HND-JFK F
  • Same PNR
  • No status
Any chance of QF F lounge in SIN? OW policy mentions long haul J/F connecting to short haul Y and I think only at the connecting airport. Cannot find anything addressing this situation though. Bluff my way in? 😂

As per Oneworld rules, yes you should have access connecting from long haul F to short/medium haul J.

Actually a very literal interpretation of the rules would categorise QF72 as a long haul flight being more than 5 hours by a few minutes...

Connecting between oneworld marketed and operated flights: First and Business Class customers connecting on the same day of travel, or before 06:00am the following day, can access the lounge when travelling between an international long haul (a oneworld international long haul flight is defined as an international flight marketed and operated by any oneworld carrier with a scheduled flight time longer than 5 hours) and an international short haul or domestic flight (and vice-versa).

Lounge access will be determined on the international long haul ticketed flight (either First of Business Class) regardless of the ticketed class of travel on the international short haul or domestic flight. You must be prepared to show your boarding pass or itinerary showing travel in First or Business class on the international long haul flight, in order to access the lounge before your international short haul or domestic flight.

Nope no access at SIN.

Agree with the others… no lounge access by any of the oublished rules.

Some airlines extend lounge access for their own passengers, recognising the highest class of service that day. Worth asking in SIN when you get your BP.

Hmm, interesting

Sorry! I got mixed up with who was posting what!

Yeah, given it’s QF->QF id say your chances are quite good.
Suppose all we can do is ask. The Qatar J lounge looks quite nice, so we'll hardly be slumming it if they don't let us in

Aside from a QF F lounge dish or two, I’d suggest it’s probably the nicer place to be… as well as more ‘exclusive’; being a class of service, rather than a FF lounge. QF F SIN lounge is good for a feed, but little else

Yes, apologies, both flights JL.
As others have already mentioned above zero chance here.

As I said earlier if the JL flight is in Premium Economy from Singapore to Tokyo then you can expect to get access to the Marhaba Lounge, this lounge is nothing to write home about so don't arrive too early.

SIN-TYO is longer than the oneworld 5 hours therefore zero chance of a different oneworld like QF/QR/BA letting you in because they have no one to bill the access back to (they don't get paid so no chance of them letting you in - would be different if it's their own metal), if the Y/PE flight was shorter and under 5 hours, under the oneworld rules you could get access and in that process the lounge access gets billed to the carrier of the long haul flight.

Hi All,

Any experts here could possibly tell me which lounge I can access at the new terminal in Abu Dhabi, arriving from Sydney with Etihad but transferring to Paris on Air France. I have Gold Elite Sky Team status. Are there any Sky Team lounges in the new terminal? Perhaps I could access the Etihad business lounge? ( I hope so!)

Many thanks in advance,

FD

Hi,

Just wanted to check If I am flying Business class domestic with velocity gold.
Does this mean because I am not using my gold slot I can guest 2 adults and 3 children into the lounge? or is it still only 1 adult? and I'm correct that they don't have to be on the same flight or flying with virgin?

As a Velocity Gold member (regardless of class of travel), you can invite one additional guest prior to the flight, plus up to three children aged between 2 to 17 years.
Without Gold status, Business class passengers are not permitted any additional guests in the lounge.
