Background to this thread
We have noticed an increase in the posting of questions regarding what Airport Lounges are available at specific airports when travelling on specific airlines. While one can be assured of access at the airline lounge when travelling on that airline (provided you have Lounge membership), thing start to get complex when travelling on a codeshare or partner airline.

Posting Guidelines
Please post your questions about Lounge access in this thread. Be sure to include the airline you are travelling on, the airport (and terminal, if known), and any Airline Status or Airport Lounge membership programs you have.

When answering questions, please include the original question. This will assist in readability and management of the thread.

(Special thanks to Princess Fiona for suggesting this new thread.)

Apologies yes you are correct. If the layover is long enough it might be worth getting a day pass.

That's what I put in my reply but then I deleted it because we cross-posted and I thought you must be right!

Hi all,
I have searched but not been able to find any info regarding lounge access when flying LA.
I am flying SYD-SCL on LA800 (in Y) in October, do I get access to the SYD QF lounge as a QFSG (OWS)? The LAN website is not clear and suggests that you have be flying in J to gain access in SYD.
For the stopover in AKL, is the QF lounge available for use?
Thanks!

Yes and yes if I'm reading the opening hours of the AKL lounge correctly.

Hi, we have qff economy points flights for 2 booked from Perth to London return on a Qantas e ticket and I have q club membership. Flights out are ek421/qf9 and return cx238 and cx171 via Hong Kong.

I can see we can access the qantas lounge in Dubai, but Perth, London and Hong Kong may not be accessable just with q club membership. Are you able to clarify this? Thanks.

Though I have not used it what a great thread the "I am in the q club lounge" is!

EK421 = not a Qantas flight number therefore no access to to PER international business lounge
QF9 = Qantas flight number and qantas club = access to DXB QF associated international business lounge - guest allowed
CX flights = not a qantas flight number = no access to QF hong kong lounge.

Thanks to both repliers. Unhappy with this I have changed our flights to go from Perth to London return via Melbourne providing QF flights each way. Even after the 5000 points change penalty I got back 13000 points and we have decided to have a short stay in Melbourne and I can apply for upgrades as well. Thanks again for your replies.

Good idea with the changes for lounge access. I don't know how you can apply for a points upgrade on a Classic Flight Award though ??

On manage your booking it has "Request Classic Upgrade Reward". PE is 180,000 business 248,000 for two. Pretty expensive though.

I was referring to lounge access in LAX!

Re: LAX lounge domestic travel in US

I'm flying into JFK from BOS. Is it possible for a OWE to access either the Admirals or Flagship lounge at T8? No onward booking that day.

No access on arrival. If you really want access to the T8 Flagship lounge on arrival you can always book an award ticket using AA or QF points (minimum 7.5K I think) and no show that flight.

Depends how long it takes for the SC to post. If you do click over to SG, then remove your QFF number from the booking and add it back in again to trigger the JAL system to recognise it.

At the very least have the QF app at the ready so you can show the checkin/lounge desks your status if it updates in time.

Just want to report back on the outcome. I manage to click over to Gold on time, but when checking in at Itami (Osaka) I was given 2 board passes. Itami to Tokyo as Rubby and Tokyo to Syd as Sapphire. I told the check-in lady to reenter my QF number but it did not seem to work. She was very polite, but rather unhelpful as her English was limited. After a little while I gave up. Nevertheless, I went to the lounge and tried my luck again. The lady at the lounge spoke much better English and after a long phone call to possible her boss, she invited me to the lounge. She latter went to me to explain that she called QF customer service and they verified my Sapphire status and that she apologised for taking so long. Nice service, Japanese style and no cutting corner.

Thanks, but I'm not that desperate.
