Background to this thread
We have noticed an increase in the posting of questions regarding what Airport Lounges are available at specific airports when travelling on specific airlines. While one can be assured of access at the airline lounge when travelling on that airline (provided you have Lounge membership), thing start to get complex when travelling on a codeshare or partner airline.

Posting Guidelines
Please post your questions about Lounge access in this thread. Be sure to include the airline you are travelling on, the airport (and terminal, if known), and any Airline Status or Airport Lounge membership programs you have.

When answering questions, please include the original question. This will assist in readability and management of the thread.

We have a dedicated thread for Lounge Access questions but to answer your query a QF Gold travelling on QF Flight has access to the EK Lounge and you may bring one guest.

I can't recall whether SYD specific, but there have been several reports of being denied entry, rightly or wrongly, due to there being no QF/EK codeshare on a particular flight.
And I don't think it opens until 4.00pm, so there might not be much time in any case.

I'm travelling with Qatar from Doha to Sao Paulo, arriving 6pm and departing the following morning with LATAM onwards in South America, on the one oneworld Explorer ticket in J. I will not be entering Brazil and will instead remain airside (almost purely to avoid the ~ $220 visa fee).

Will I have access to the oneworld lounges at Sao Paulo on arrival from Doha? From the oneworld website, I believe I will, by virtue of my oneworld Emerald status. If I was a pure J passenger, then maybe there'd be a problem.

Why dont you just go into the QF lounge?
Hah! A QF Gold travelling business or economy (and not travelling to America or Africa) has a choice between the Qantas business lounge and the EK lounge ... it's a no brainer ...

Are you referring to those trying to use the lounge prior to a flight to the US?

QF gold can NOT access the EK lounge when flying QF to The Americas or South Africa. I was denied entry when travelling on QF to DFW. My understanding is you're flying to Asia and should be granted access.

Covered here - Emirates' business class, first class lounge at Sydney Airport
The OP is travelling to DPS and the lounge access entitlement is also pretty clear on the QF website.
Not always the case with the QF website mind you but it is here.
