Background to this thread
We have noticed an increase in the posting of questions regarding what Airport Lounges are available at specific airports when travelling on specific airlines. While one can be assured of access at the airline lounge when travelling on that airline (provided you have Lounge membership), thing start to get complex when travelling on a codeshare or partner airline.

Posting Guidelines
Please post your questions about Lounge access in this thread. Be sure to include the airline you are travelling on, the airport (and terminal, if known), and any Airline Status or Airport Lounge membership programs you have.

When answering questions, please include the original question. This will assist in readability and management of the thread.

(Special thanks to Princess Fiona for suggesting this new thread.)

I'm making a bit of a habit of this and getting it wrong. Original article I read (I think maybe Points Hacks) said no Star Alliance. But Air NZ own T&C's suggest otherwise Touch of Gold Benefits | Air New Zealand – Australia

Lounge access
Members may access any Air New Zealand, Star Alliance and partner airline lounge prior to departure on an Air New Zealand or Star Alliance operated flight along with our qualifying partner airline flights.

You may also invite one additional guest (travelling on the same service and subject to space) to join you in any Air New Zealand International, Domestic and Regional Lounge (excluding Koru Express, which does not allow guest entry), Star Alliance lounges and some partner lounges.

Please note that Star Alliance and partner lounge access regulations stipulate that any travellers, including children aged two years old and over will be included as part of the member's guest allowance. More about lounges.

Hi everyone,

I'm travelling to Nadi from HNL on 2nd November on Fiji Airlines in J class, flight leaving at 01:25 (am). I'm Qantas Silver. I also have Unlimited Priority Pass.

What lounges should/can I visit before my departure at so early in the morning in HNL? Preferably one with a shower

Thanks in advance

Am VA platinum and will fly LAX-CUN on Delta metal and flight number.
Is lounge access available to me at LAX? I have seen conflicting information
My flight from CUN will be to ATL-MIA and I believe as DL uses the MX lounge there will be no lounge access available to me at CUN.

Can anyone advise how JAL define “guest” for F lounge purposes at NRT?

I’m WP with QF (OW Emerald) so I know I can get in with one guest. But Miss H is travelling with us so hoping they have the same approach to children as QF.

Can anyone with experience advise please?

There is no conflict, Yes to lounge access at T2 or T3 Skyclubs at LAX before a DL*DL flight. (T2 is 'better'.)

No VA lounge access at MEX, but you can choose from 9 SkyClub lounges at ATL.

Excellent. Thanks for that.
Strangely the only DL lounges where I've had to point out my eligibility to the person at the desk is at ATL. I now just keep the Velocity web page on my phone detailing lounge access ready to show.

JAL follow oneworld rules quite strictly: anyone over 2yo counts as a guest.
By trial and error I can mostly confirm this advice.

To play by the rules I guested Mrs H into the F lounge. I then took Miss H for a walk.

Upon return we happened upon the upstairs F lounge and both Miss H and I were admitted. So for a brief moment the three of us were in the F lounge.. just different F lounges and not together.

It was entirely by accident, and we quickly regrouped in the J lounge.

I have an elderly relative flying from Cairns to Albury, via Sydney, later in the year. He's flying business class on the sector to Sydney, but it doesn't exist on the Qlink sector to Albury.

Will he be able to access the lounge during the 3 hour wait in Sydney?

I don't believe you're allowed arrivals access based on a domestic J inbound flight unless WP or P1.

Was the entire journey booked as a business ticket? It's available to book online as a business ticket with the warning that Sydney to Albury is in Economy, but the fare information has this wording:

This fare is classed as Business for the purposes of calculating how many Qantas Points and Status credits you earn, or how many Qantas Points you need to redeem a Classic Upgrade Reward.

If the fare is considered as a business fare, then your relative should get lounge access in Sydney also.

I asked the CSM such a question when flying J ADL - ARM with the SYD leg in Y on Q Link. The CSM gave me an invitation to the J lounge in SYD, which I didn't need. As it was, I just showed both my boarding passes.

Interesting. A while back I flew BNE-PER in J, connecting to PER-BME on a flight with Y-only seating. (I still had to pay the J award price for the whole itinerary.) The CSM on my flight to Perth advised me I would still be able to use the J lounge in PER, but I was refused access at the door.

I am flying MEL-HKG-BOS-HKG-MEL on Cathay in economy next week. I am QF Gold (OW Emerald) but will credit the miles for these flights to Asia Miles (no status) as I wouldn't earn QF miles in this booking class. Does anyone know if I will have access to QF/CX lounges if my QF FF number is not on my boarding pass? Is it sufficient to bring the QF FF card to the lounge? Thanks!

Note that since the EK alliance Qantas introduced a rule that for a QFF member to use QFF status to access a Qantas lounge the member needs to be crediting the flight to QFF (& so reflected on the BP).

YMMV as Enforcement of this has reportedly been spotty.

IMHO it'd be no loss at HKG anyway as ordinarily I would not go within cooee of the QF lounge there.

BTW Qantas Gold is oneworld Sapphire, it is platinum that is Emerald.

Qantas award tickets on AA SFO-PHX-YVR, Business, no OW status, with a three hour layover in Phoenix.
Cannot access AA lounges with these flights, but what about the other OW lounges, CX and BA?
