But seriously, I've met you, somewhat briefly at the MEL do in Dec 2012, and I knew JohnK had met you, so thought that would provide a better point of reference than my usual "x foot tall and blonde" descriptor. It seems to conjure more impressive images to some than I intend. :/

You could try Uber? Yet to use it in AKL but it's great in other cities. The app shows cars available in AKL at the moment.

It's obviously not like booking a traditional car service, and there's no gurantee of availabilty as such, but it's much cheaper! I've never had a problem getting a car.
