Lounge Wi-fi, gone?

I think QF should really lift their game on this. The last time I was in BA F Lounge LHR T3 I managed to download 2 movies from iTunes to my iPad in about 20 mins. The lounge was v busy. I wouldn't dream of trying the same in SYD or MEL

I know the feeling. I downloaded about 2GB in the F lounge at LHR Terminal 3 in no time.

Yep, certainly experienced that, and also the drop outs. The speed is painstaking slow during the morning and late afternoon rushes.

I was in CNS on 19th December in the afternoon. No more than 10 people in the lounge, and all I got was the "give me your money" screen. Went and spoke to the ladies at the front desk....quite helpful they got out the diary and looked back through the week that was. The internet had been "down" since the Wednesday before and the notes in the diary showed ASP, DRW, PER and ADL as all down.

It had been reported and there was a reference number.... but there had been no fix reported.

I had figured it was down due to the severe storms that went thru at 2am.

posted now from SYD T3.

Slow to connect, slow for logon screen, then slow to establish internet access. But obviously working ATM.

In the last 2-3 weeks, I have not been able to use WiFi in the Syd QF T3 J lounge and the Mel F lounge. After great difficulty, I managed it at Syd F lounge. QF, not really good enough!!

When you do get to the right login in for the QP, bookmark it, you will find you can get straight to that page a lot quicker in the future.

Maybe you could post the page / link here as I'm off to the QF J lounge T3 in Syd next week...thanks!

Nope, as I wont be in a QP for a while now, and silly me tried it out last time and it worked but did not bookmark it, only used the one in history from the day before. I got the impression that it was a short term issue a month ago, its obviously ongoing now.

Its a Telstra service that they pay QF for the rights to provide, which is why its 802.11B.

It's only 802.11B?

Gross.

That aside, I agree it's been slower than usual lately, and I did have problems signing on during my last visit.

SYD Flounge 20/12-sign up at desk saying wi fi not available-please use your own connection!

Hmm and I thought I was doing something wrong in CBR on Friday! Tried the old login page from history and just dumped me back at the c/card login... found some food instead :)

Shrek was given a cable on arrival for Ethernet connection when this happened last month. It is unacceptable for QF to not provide internet access in any lounge. This seems to have been a regular occurrence recently and should lead to a review of the current provider.

thanks Mal...will try it out next week:p

NP. The only reason I have it is because I had a similar idea to Markis10 when I was in the lounge recently, and bookmarked it. It definately helped speed things up when logging on (instead of that horrible timeout/sit there for ages type situation )

Phone call from QFF today - they are "investigating" and will get back to me.

I always use my Optus 3G wireless for data security. That said, when I have forgotten it I was amazed as it was impossible to pickup the network in BNE and MEL J lounges.
