Hey guys!

I qualified for LTG and received my card late last year, however I have not used it at all, being a WP...

I just found it at the bottom of my backpack yesterday and it is... well, quite filthy; the membership number, member since
and my name has worn off and the card is covered in some sort of adhesive residue (I suspect this is the reason
for the overall cleanliness of the internals of my bag, given its condition:shock:)

Just wondering if I'll get a new one the end of this year? I would call, but my roaming is inactive :(

I'm LTQP and have never received a new card, but I'm sure they'd send you one if you reported it lost.

QF issue LTG cards when you fall back to Gold, they mention this in the letter if your WP.

Maybe the OP was not WP when LTG was earned and just did not mention so?

I have been LTG for several years but have never been issued with a LTG card...

I suspect that is the case, at the same time I wanted to correct the possible expectation of one being issued as a WP for those being close to that milestone.

We must be getting close to the time where it's possible for someone to archive LTG without attaining WP at any time, although probably not on AFF ;).

Hmmm, SC's/TP's have been around for 14 years, at an average of 1000 each year it's quite possible.

Could have also been WP then dropped back to SG or vice versa so mathematically possible

Thanks guys! I achieved LTG midst 2011, of which, at the time I was still a WP.
However, I did not re-qualify as I was doing my HSC. Thus, Qantas sent me an LTG card.

The reason I wanted to know if we get new cards is because I do not want to re-qualify this
year, being, no longer a fan of Q metal for long-hauls (80% of my travels)

I went and had a look at the Qantas site and did a search - what a useless search engine! Anyway all I could come up with was the $10 fee for a replacement FF card. However that fee is waived if the magnetic strip is inoperable and it sounds like yours probably is :) Also I know with the Lifetime Qantas Club cards you can request a new one every x years and not pay a fee - no idea what x is - maybe 3 years. Master FM lost his and was able to get another one without any charge.

Just ring QFF and say the card snapped from being bent in your wallet, no fee will be charged for that...

Visited the reception at the Syd lounge, told her I don't plan to re-qualify for WP next qualifying year and wanted my LTG card. She picked up the phone and ordered me a new one.

Too easy... LOL
