Okay, I know that LTP does not exist within the QFF program - as yet.

I have just passed 21000 LT SC's and it got me to thinking, if QFF had or were to have a LTP product would it kick in at 21000, 28000 or another number of SC's.

If we used the 20 times method current employed
Silver 350 SC's to qualify and 7000 SC's for LTS
Gold 700 SC's to qualify and 14000 SC's for LTG
Platinum 1400 SC's to qualify would mean 28000 SC's for LTP,

Or could they use the 7000 method,
7000 SC's for LTS
14000 SC's for LTG
21000 SC's for LTP,

So what are your thoughts?

I have no idea, but that is impressive Reggie! How long have you been flying QF/OW? Wow! :)

LTP? Fuggetaboutit!

Loyalty programs are carrot and stick, show loyalty and you get a carrot, start flying less and you get the stick of reduced status... Offering LTP is all carrot...

If we want to talk incentives for new LTS points perhaps QF should look at adopting an AA type scheme where for each 1M miles you get upgrades etc...

Maybe for each 2K SC or something like that you get an invite to visit the CL :)

Start crediting flights to AA frequent flyer program

Absolutely

I cannot imagine QF offering a Lifetime Platinum award since it would give maximum benefits to the member even if they drop to 1 flight every few years and zero incentive to credit anything to QF

LTP would be nice, but Im more than happy with LTG and no longer have any incentive to use QF for anything other than domestic flights and just pick international services based on quality of airline

Dave

I’d go with the first idea, of 28,000SC’s or above that.

I think they should continue offering perks after LTG, something hard to achieve, but something to keep you with them, and after the next perk, which could be LTP, there should be something else :p

Congrats on your achievement, I wish I could put that in my signature.

Living overseas, i mainly keep my WP status for use on other OW airlines.. Only have 2,000 SC's to go till LTG, then im gonna be putting it all to AA.. QFF would never be so nice to its most loyal customers.. Has anyone seen Up in the Air with George Clooney ?

I love that movie :)

I'll let you in on a little secret.... Lifetime Platinum does exist.

All you need is 1200 SC/year to achieve it

Very interesting tpoic.
A very close friend of mine spoke to someone at QF just last week. He was asking about QF WP benefits and if QF WP is really worth it. After a few minutes, the conversation drifted to SC's. The qantas rep mentioned that 20,000SC would get you LTP. Then again, they could have been talking B/S.
As others have said, switch to AA and get your 6 upgrade coupons each year. What does QF really give you in that department? Not much...

8 systemwide upgrades per annum as an Executive Platinum member
Indeed eight is the magic number. And each is good for up to 3 sectors. And they can be use used for anyone, not just "eligible family members". Last year I did not flown any AA segments, but used 7 of my 8 eVIPS for work colleagues, fellow AFF members and friends of friends. While not being able to use them myself, I have been able to use them . All perfectly within the standard terms and conditions for eVIPs.

Sorry, l didn't make myself clear. With the amount of flying that Reggie does, l just assumed that he would make AA Executive Platinum.

Or, another alternative, enrole into LAN's FFP. The benefits are even better than AA.
Once top status is achieved, you get your upgrades, PLUS, if there is space avaliable, you get upgraded to the next level of class each and every time (if it is a multi class flight, obviously).

The main (only ??) thing that has kept me crediting to QF is the PG. Is this a good reason who knows, but SWMBO thinks it is.

I have however started to use *A for some flights, PER-CDG-PER last year with SQ (half the price of QF in J) and fly 3 or 4 times a year AKL-PER on NZ (I wont take the overnight flight on NZ PER-AKL, bad timing and coughpy seats for sleeping)

I hit 20000 in early Dec, so plenty of time for a letter stating such, but I haven't received one.

How long have you been flying QF/OW? Wow! :)

I started flying QF/OW when Ansett bit the dust. (Was diamond and lost 500000 points, but don't dwell on that anymore). I have had 1 or 2 quiet years since changing to QF when I had a different job.

Hi everyone,

LTP does exist - a colleague of mine has a platinum FF card with no expiry.

Of course, I asked him how he achieved this (and what was the catch):

  • Lengthy discussions with senior management of the FF program (he got it about 5 years ago, so no doubt management has changed)
  • One off payment to cover administrative costs ($1.5K I think he said)
  • No more accumulation of SC - his FF summary page states "-"
  • He had A LOT of SC (30,000+ I believe, with a lengthy history of fully flexible J travel)
So I guess if you think you eligible for it ask - and ask again

"I have just passed 21000 LT SC's and it got me to thinking, if QFF had or were to have a LTP product would it kick in at 21000, 28000 or another number of SC's."

How do you know your LT SC's? do you log them every year, or is this info available on the website? I lost interest once I'd received LTG.
