Never seen it....Hmmm.

Maybe it was a special promotion, maybe they were left overs from special events, maybe a new service trial?...

Anyway, I went back to make sure my pics were from the correct lounge (and I wasn't getting confused).

I think it was the guy in the white shirt (just possible to make him out, in the top left of pic) who was going around handing out the pies in the lounge.

Here's the next shot on my phone (in full) - so you can see the pie sitting in its telltale Virgin Lounge setting. Complete with my Scotch & cola, sans-Scotch :evil: !

As an ex chef I would love to try both pies and post my thoughts here but I don't have any flights planned on either QF or DJ
in the near future,maybe there's a good excuse for me to book a couple of mileage runs.
'Pie Wars 2012' could be bigger than Ben Hur.

I finally got to check out the LM pie last sunday and i did like it.Unfortunately when by myself i can only access the QP and i have never seen the new age NPPP there.

Tried the new NPPP last week I think it was, can’t remember exactly what it was, perhaps chicken, but I know I liked it at the time. I was very tired though, so probably how I forgot.

Well I had my first visit to "The Lounge" in BNE today.And yes they came around offering the LMPP-lamb and rosemary.Was pretty good too.As I am unlikely to be able to taste the new NPPP anytime soon I cant comment but by the sounds of the reports here- The Heat is On-as Chairman Kaga would say.

Hmmm, you know I think I must have been confused when the bring-back-the-NPPP lobbying was happening last year. What I was lobbying for was actually a NNPPP (Non Neil Perry Party Pie) ... you know, just a normal party pie, the ones they used to have in the QP - not these new fangled ones.

Perhaps I'm showing my breeding by not particularly enjoying these new NPPPs. As Manu would say - sometimes less is more!

I feel like I'm 8 years old again, opening a big present on Christmas day to find it's just an empty box ... or maybe a barbie doll.

the oz F/Fers have spoken.....we dont want nuthin fancy... giv us a four n twenty pie and tommy sauce any day!!...lets suggest the lounges hav a freezer stocked with various frozen food products and microwaves for quick heating...as we are always in a hurry..and want everything 'yesterday'!! ...of course these microwaves will be manned by dedicated lounge staff to giv us the attention/recognition we deserve! ....BTW..I'M TAKING THE MICKY..JUST HAVIN A LAUGH..

In the SYD T2 QP last Friday, the hot meal in the evening was "deconstructed beef and [something] pie".
Now to me it looked like a tub of mince and a tub of mashed potato beside it. That's OK with me, but can we talk about the often ridiculously wanky names given to meals? (I blame Masterchef)

I had this insult to my tastebuds last Friday and it was horrid...

Saying that, I once got served a "Duck Shepard's Pie" (how the f=*& does that NP guy come up with those titles?) in QF International J and that turned out to be absolutely exquisite in my eyes!

Sorry I am past shocking.Used to be a steward with the Stud Beef section at Maitland Show.Watched the judging of the Hoof and Hook section in its entirety including convincing the bush Angus cattle to leave the safety of their pen.
