Luxury Escapes - beware!

We stayed a couple of easters ago and loved it. We kept saying we’d go back and this fell into our email as we started planning our trip. This is a good deal.

You just stay away from my Qld ;)

uh oh, drron will be on to me next :)
I find it interesting that they are kid-free, but allow babies. We would just scrape in with the under-2 allowance.

I'm eyeing this one off. We bought it for my mum earlier this year and she really liked it. Just waiting for QLD to open the border

That's good to know. MrsK and I have booked for Jun 2021 - I think Qld should be open by then (fingers crossed)

Credit for full value has landed on my Amex. At least four is our experience had been positive. I wish it was the same for everyone.
Thanks for posting this. We had the same place booked in May and have had no help from LE. Hopefully our result will be the same as yours.

Started chasing a refund for our Hawaii package. The hotel is still closed, and the room will no longer be suitable for our family by the time we can actually go. Sharing with a 15 month old is far different to a two year old...

Happy to report that LE have refunded our package in full. The gift cards I used have been returned to credit and the balance has been processed as a credit card refund.

I'm bummed that we wont get to use the package as it was amazing, but it just wont suit us by the time we can actually travel.

Luxury Escapes is the worst. I purchased a buy now book later packager for $529 when I went to book the package they said I owed another $408 in surcharges taking my total to $927. I could book the same hotel direct for $855. When I tried to get a refund I was told I could not since the fine print says "surcharges may apply." Terrible and deceitful. If I new the surcharges were going to double the price I would never have used them. Beware "surcharges may apply."

Surcharges often apply for peak dates, it's not hidden, you can see then when you look at the calendar.

I did not know the dates I wanted to travel do to COVID when I booked. I also would never have booked if I new it would cost more then booking direct with the hotel (the extra food basket provided is not worth $72 more). My dates are also very flexible but there are NO dates with out at least a $50 a night surcharge. It is all a marketing scam "may apply" "peak dates" lesson learned NEVER again and hopefully people can read my reviews before making the same mistake.

I can understand your frustration - such things are one of the reasons I never book a LE package unless I am able to lock in the dates on booking - that way I know the total price and availability prior to making any payment. I am also unwilling to book anything that is many months away - just too risky in these uncertain times (eg. who would have predicted the Perth lockdown even a few weeks ago).

Our cancelled Bali trip from last year (we were to have left the day before borders closed) was put into a voucher of pre paids for anywhere. We can use it in one hit or simply chip away. This month we went to QT Bondi and it was paid for from the voucher. Next month we are spending two nights in the Barossa in a Premium suite. Paid for by the voucher. We still have around $1800 to go and it's nice to get "free" holidays. And we can also give the voucher to others. All bookings can be cancelled up to the day before and put back into the voucher.

Just cancelled the Maldives package we had booked as it needs to be used by March and I'm not convinced it would happen. Vouchers returned to credit, new promo code to replace the one I used and balance returned to amex.
Then I noticed they've just added the same deal with new dates but much more expensive than what we'd booked. However it's not so suitable with two little ones so I've used the credit (and the cover vax voucher) for a Thailand deal instead 🤞
