Booked flights to Zurich from Sydney for next Feb. Often go from Sydney to avoid the old Singapore "regional" aircraft ex Brisbane ( and also no long layovers in Singapore ).
Made the classic mistake (remember I am old and tired ) and ended up in the outdated
777-300 with the angled "flat" seats. Could have done this
Ex Brisbane and avoided the domestic flight to Sydney.
But the airline fairy must have sensed my anguish and the
aircraft has recently been changed to the newer 777-300ER.
Now all I have to do is wait for the favoured row 11 bulkhead seats are released !

Have not yet booked BNE-SYD-BNE flights for 23 December, 27 December, 30 December and 02 January 2017.

I've made one of the biggest mistakes when it comes to flying at least - missing my flight!

Slept through my alarm, didn't make it to the airport on time for my original Y saver flight MEL-HKG. Was able to get some of the value back, but with cancellation & change fees, was the same again as my original flight.

Not only did I miss out on my original connecting flight a day in Tokyo, I foolishly spent 10 hrs in HKG, not realising that Hong Kong is only 20 minutes away. Despite an unexpectedly long layover Anywhere is Never good, HKG is among the best airports to bear it. Safe, plenty of charge points, water stations, smoking areas & Free comfy ottomans in the relaxation zone.
Much better than being stuck at say NAIA for instance.

Headed to Singapore and somehow I left the mini Rexona deodorant behind. Used Mrscove's in Singapore so that was a recovery.

From the information given, it's not clear whether he remembered to take Mrs Cove, or he only remembered only to take her deodorant. :p

Very minor but not bothering to read the Westin's "say no to housekeeping and receive a USD$5 or 500 SPG points bonus" card meant I missed the benefit. Scored it the second night at least, but you know every bit helps. I love this concept as always happy to go without housekeeping unless there are Nespresso pods to refill or similar. The only other place I've noticed it is the QT Port Douglas, where it might have been an AUD$10 F&B credit I think. Should be more of it.

We picked the slow lane immigration queue at Los Angeles yesterday. When we finally made it to the outside there was the second immigration officer sucking on a cigarette. He saw our queue and vanished leaving one booth open.

Mrs B also managed to pick the slow lane yest. Perhaps you guys were in the same queue. Apparently she spent well over an hour. Unfortunately she had to use a new esta this trip. In sept when using a previously used esta we were curbside in about 20. Luck of the draw I guess.

Asking the partner to organize our plans for the UK. I said look but don't book.

He booked flights - ok (I think I can go in and put our FF numbers in or will have to remember at airport as I'm sure he hasn't done this)
He booked accommodation for > $200 a night yet we could have paid $90 for the whole stay if we went 100m down the street and used points etc! I don't know what possessed him!

Ugh, that doesn't sound hopeful - I'm heading to the US in March and have just renewed my passport (so have new ESTA too of course) so can't use the kiosks - mind you, even when we tried using them on the last trip to the US, we got the red "X" and had to join the regular queues anyway.
