Travelling to Egypt next Christmas on a Viking tour of Israel Egypt and Jordan. Viking posts the intinerary by day not night. Organised an awards flight out of Amman for the day the tour ends except it ended the night before. Viking is putting us up at the Hyatt in Amman so thought I’d stay an extra night rather than go elsewhere. Price came to $775 AUD a night.

So ended up booking Amman airport hotel at $235 which is apparently a flea pit but think those reviews come from people who are put up there when in overnight transit so they don’t pay.

Yep, that's the one and it tends to be because they're not allowed to leave the hotel!

Is it ok for people using it before flight out after having been in Jordan?

I don't see why not :) Does the job for a place to rest your head for the night. If you want to explore town though, then better to look at another option closer in.

We will have been in Amman touring for a couple of days after Petra. On our way home then. Probably should have left on the correct day but all awards are gone now.

Does missing out on 100,000 QFF points on a credit card churn count? I mistakenly thought i’d met the minimum spend requirements but was $80 short due to a bpay payment :(

Rushed booking. Forgot to check separate tickets vs return and separate tickets were $250 cheaper with NO difference in SP earn with Air NZ. It's work but, I still feel the burn.:( Clock had ticked over past midnight so couldn't cancel.

Not really a mistake, but ...
Planning an overseas holiday for later in 2019 for 2 people.
Asked a third person if they would like to join us, on the expectation they would say "no".
But, the answer was "yes".

Took someone to the airport tonight - ready to start a J one world reward. Phone call about 30 minutes later - ummm - I have no ETA to get into Canada and so they wouldn't let them board. Had an ETA for Canada last year in old passport but didn't realise needed a new one in new passport - EEK :eek::eek:

Going to Thailand in 2 weeks and the plan was to visit Kao Yai for 4 nights as we are trying to go somewhere different each trip. The more I researched the more I realised the place is not a great tourist destination with a lot of older hotels and very few quality reviews.

Too late to plan somewhere else at this late stage so going to Pattaya early, smack bang in the middle of Songkran. It's not a good time to visit unless you enjoy being soaked all day long.

Why not just suck it up and go somewhere a bit less mainstream, even if it's less of a known quantity? That's half the fun!

Yikes! Were they able to jump online at the airport and get one?

Booked Hilton Adelaide last week, 4 nights at $109 , even better with the Amex offer.
Click to pay and then realized my default card was set as the Hilton Macquarie, and a non refundable booking.

Called Hilton and after 15 minutes on hold a few times luckily they changed it to my Amex card.

No because they had to provide their old ETA number and couldn't find it - I did a much rush back to apartment to see if I could find it in paperwork but no luck - waiting for phone call today for plan B :(

I will go to places less mainstream but this trip needed a little more research. There will be other opportunities. Wife wants to visit Vietnam.

My mistake today? Thinking that the bus ride would have been on the lower range of the 5 to 8 hour suggested travel time... it was 8 hours and 1 minute long :)

Took about 3 hours to get out of Kathmandu.

Yesterday our favourite eldest son arrived at Zurich Airport one day early. Singapore Airlines got him on board so he will get home to Perth a full day earlier than ticketed. Great recovery by SQ to help out a Kris Miles Flyer.

Hope it wasn't for a 'not good' reason that he had to fly home early although sounds like a scheduling issue on his behalf.
