That certainly seems excessive to me.I left a bit of sand in the footwell of a Hertz rental car and copped a $165 cleaning fee.

Teeming with pommies no doubt!Coming to Malta and realising that it's half term in the UK
You betchaTeeming with pommies no doubt!
It makes sense now why I struggled to find accommodation in Valletta but I have a beautiful apartment in SliemaTeeming with pommies no doubt!
I would be interested in your thoughts on the cost of living in Malta too if you can give any insight? It makes sense now why I struggled to find accommodation in Valletta but I have a beautiful apartment in Sliema
It's reasonable, considering it's an island. Not super cheap, but I didn't find it that expensive either. If you're not short term letting, then the increase in accommoation during summer doesn't matter so much either.I would be interested in your thoughts on the cost of living in Malta too if you can give any insight?

I have found prices incredibly variable depending on the area you are inI would be interested in your thoughts on the cost of living in Malta too if you can give any insight?
Supermarket prices are fairly similar across the board I found though, unless you're buying from a tiny little corner shop but then that's no different to the UK, Spain, Italy etc.I have found prices incredibly variable depending on the area you are in

Belated welcome to AFF.Long time browser / first time poster. Inspired by this thread.
I recently returned from Bali (first time since around 1997). Prior to leaving and rather than applying for a VOA, I pre-applied and pre-paid for my Visa and Tourist Levy. When I paid, I thought it was a bit too much and unbeknownst to me I'd applied and paid through a (thankfully legitimate) 3rd party. For what should have been about $130 AUD for the wife and I cost me closer to $600 AUD![]()
If you want to feel better my friend read you needed to complete the customs declaration before arrival - the QR code declaring if you’re bringing alcohol etc.Long time browser / first time poster. Inspired by this thread.

Personally I think that influencers are something that the world would operate better (or just as well) without.A mistake I was not unhappy making. Last Friday was having lunch in our Vietnamese restaurant. An article in News.com about influencers by a "journalist". I read out the best paragraph to Mrsdrron which ended with that influencers are half witted cretins. The couple at the next table started talking a bit louder turned out they were a couple of influencers planning their trip of Europe by car and train. Kept sying how AI was making their"job" so much easier.
