Another fan of the MB ice-creams qantas serves, however Miss FM would prefer a magnum.....

QF are the same as WOW, Coles...
Yes it is rather unfortunate that some aspects of the Qantas Domestic Business Class service read more like a supermarket shopping list, than a menu of their executive chef's inspired recipes (just like any fine dining restaurant). :(

LMAO.......happy days:lol::lol::lol:

Burnt Fig was great... the first 3 or 4 times...

God no. If that's the offering I go for cheese. :) Unfortunately it seems that burnt fig is usually what they load for me to/from Perth.

It makes for a relaxing bite to eat over lunch, overlooking the dam on the deck at the farm shop at the end of Pheasant Farm Road.
Shhh. You're making a valid point for me actually visiting SA ;)

Edit: Also a good excuse to go via Henschke's on the trip back to Adelaide.

SHHH!!! :P

How sophisticated a first post is this . . . talking icecream..!!! but have to agree to enjoying MB icecream, particularly the burnt fig, but having recently been served a Quince and Bitter Almond, it became obvious my tastes in icecream are not as sophisticated as my first post . . . did not enjoy it one little bit.

Though, I think I have to agree a change from icecream occassionally would be good, the same old fare when travelling regularly, is a little bit tedious. My main complaint though, is the speed in which they serve sweets following mains, I would much prefer a longer break.

Hahah welcome to AFF and I hope that you continue to post about such sophisticated things!

I would agree with you. Although for every person in our camp, there is a person who would want them served quicker. So you can never please everyone.

I had the MB passionfruit icecream the other day and it was so good I asked the FA for a second - and got it.

My preference -

Haagen Dazs
Maggie Beer
Magnum
Weiss Bar

But if I'm honest, any ice-cream on a plane is always fun to me (big kid trapped inside) !!!

Mrs GPH doesnt like it, she too would prefer a Magnum (with Almonds) I dont mind, BUT my favourite is plain old French Vanilla

My favourite MB ice cream is the passionfruit - absolutely devine but it's as rare as hens teeth as I've only ever seen it once.

Second fave would be the vanilla bean & elderflower followed in third place by anything with caramel in it. I'm a bit over the quince & bitter almond though.

You mean you want the world's smallest cadbury bar??? Or world's smallest toblerone?

We got 2 desserts on the QF7 SYD/DFW - a small tub of rice pudding then a mango & vanilla Weis bar afterwards. That was in whY btw.

When it comes to serving ice-cream in a premium cabin on transcontinental services, IMO this is how it should be done. :D

Made to order Sundae on AA.

I second that - the photo really doesn't do it justice!

Mrs GPH doesn't like the passion fruit. Had it twice BNE- AKL - BNE recently.

I finally got to try a MB ice cream the other day on a DM J redemption PER-BKK... There was a choice of the strawberry and cream or something (whicH someone here said was pretty good) or this bitter almond one... Seeing strawberry ice cream is fairly mUndane i tried the bitter almond one instead... It was ok, not to be raved over... Probably should of asked to try both... :)

I wish they had it on more flights. I've flown about a dozen times in the last 6 weeks and only once been offered it.
