Hotel Promotions Marriott - buy points with a bonus or discount

Thanks - I think unfortunately there's quite a few of us in your boat (I have half a million KF points I wasn't expecting that I'm now hoarding) --- I agree re not dumping Marriott or QF points yet (thank goodness for M to airline transfers for you), but yes, no one is immune.

Hi guys, i bought 50K Bonvoy points , due to the current 60% bonus offer.
How long does it normally take for the purchased points to hit my account ?
I bought it on Wednesday night, and the points still have not appear.

2 to 3 days is usual.

Bonus usually 24 hours after the base purchase.

There's another offer on at the moment of 60% bonus points on any purchase above 2,000 Marriott Bonvoy points. The annual purchase limit has also been tripled during this promotion to 150,000 points. The offer ends on Wednesday 25 November.

If you were to buy 150k Marriott Bonvoy points during this offer, you'd get 240k points in total for a cost of USD1,875 (that's about $2.5k). That's equivalent to 100,000 miles in most frequent flyer programs after conversion.

Anyone taking advantage of the sale , which airlines miles you will convery into ?

Pre-Covid my choice would be

buying 180k marriott for ~ 2k then convert to 75K ANA . Enough for a return in J between Australia - Asia award

Hmm... I need another 30k Kris points for a booking I was going to make next week. Would be about $700us which isn't great but it might be the easiest way to do it.

Not planning on taking this up as I bought up on a promotion earlier this year.

How often does Marriott run this promotion at 50-60%? Planning to go Maldives in 2022 or 2023 and will need roughly 340k points. I know usually you can only buy 50k points per year or do they also change this limit often?

They have increased the limit this year to total purchasing points allowed of 150,000 due to COVID. IIRC, they usually allow only 100,000. Bonus points percentages have also increased to either 50% or 60% this year and I thought they usually were anywhere between 25-40%. Considering travel is likely to be flat for a while still, I would imagine they may run another one of these early next year but who knows.

I received an 'invite-only' email overnight from Bonvoy - offering 60% bonus points on points purchases as well as the annual limit being increased to 200,000. I'm not sure when the promotion finishes as it isn't in the email.

I have a 50% bonus offer - up to 150K puchase (giving 225K) - "buy before December 22nd".

Same offer. Dec 22 clearly stated in the text of the email.

30% discount on purchases of at least 2,000 Marriott Bonvoy points is available until 20 June 2021.

There's another promo on now - log in to see your exclusive (targeted) bonus applicable when buying points until 15 July 2022. My bonus was 45%.

You can also get a 30% discount by buying extra points while booking a reward night - which is a better deal.

I just got my 45% bonus offer as well. Not enticing enough enough especially with the recent dynamic pricing changes.

Got 55%. If I need a few to book a 5n for 4 or a few for a very choice stay I’d do the calculation. Otherwise, not buying.
