Smith hotel being refurbished and rebranded

Marriott International and Trilogy Hotels have partnered for the first time under an agreement with Darwin-based developer DCOH to convert the Smith Hotel Darwin to a Courtyard by Marriott.

The property at 81 Smith Street will rebrand to Courtyard by Mariott Darwin in the first quarter of 2025 when the first phase of an extensive renovation is complete, marking Marriott International’s first property in the Northern Territory.

The final phase of the conversion project is slated for completion in 2027.

The signing follows the establishment of a multi-property deal between Trilogy Hotels and DCOH, announced in October 2024.

“When it comes to unlocking the full potential of our key CBD assets under Trilogy, the Darwin community deserves the very best, and that means bringing an outstanding global brand like Marriott to the Darwin marketplace,” said DCOH Managing Director, Shane Dignan.
