"Massive" Qantas 2022 award seat release

I've had a bit of a look around just now for J/PE seats to LHR, LAX, YVR, HKG and BKK and don't see any of this extra availability! Has it been snapped up already or has Qantas just not released that much?

Edit: If I log in I can see some seats 11-12 months out (as a Gold member). But still not seeing much other than that.

I had a quick look around the dates I have currently booked for SYD-SFO (so Mar/Apr 2022). There was maybe one or two extra PEY seats released, but otherwise nothing

Its been ages since I've booked a flight using the Qantas tool and from memory there used to be a way that you could bring up a calendar that showed you flight availability for classic awards but the classes as well (i.e. econ/premium econ/business, etc).

For the life of me, I'm darned if I can figure out how to do it. Is there a way of only showing the classic awards but for a certain class? Is it via the multi-city stopover function?

Any advice is greatly appreciated

But I could improve some other flights and get back 60k points and some taxes.

Yea simpler flight, one less connection:
HKG-MNL-SYD CX/QF in J became HKG-SYD QF in J.
Happy to get 60k back, and I think a couple of hundreds back in taxes, but also very happy to remove a connection via another country.

@Keasm Go into multi-city bookings, click for classic rewards only, and click the flexible with dates box. If there is a single sector that is problematic then nothing shows - so use a sector that you know will exist (e.g. MEL-CMB) and then the sector you actually want to search on.

Trying to get Business Class award seats except using multi city completely eludes me. I only get Y and Y+. Help? If I do multi city I see them but can't book them because it's on two different airlines and it can't cope. Sigh.

I have also booked a massive itinerary for September, I am hoping that by then, the masks, covid tests and quarantine will be long gone. If not, it is fully refundable.

And Eddy, I have our wedding trip next year locked in! I'm risking going through Melbourne on the way back to Oz but it's in June and if that goes cactus I'll book a paid ticket direct on SQ. Flying Adl - Hkg - LHR on way out and Adl - Hkg on CX on way back then Qantas - Hkg - Mel - Adl on way home.

DONE. After the usual issues with trying to add on my domestic leg to get home, I gave up. Will add it later.

Its always so hard to find anything that works that i end up giving up and booking a paid fare.

If you have flexibility to travel on a Tuesday for instance its okay but for people on tight schedules points always seem useless.

Looks like I beat you to it, at least one of the days. I was on at 7am and could only see Mon - Wed LHR - SYD in August each week. The 1st of Aug went very quick and I picked up 2nd Aug shortly after and I'm pretty sure 3rd Aug (along with the rest of the month) is mostly gone now too.

The availability was there but went VERY quick (see my complaints up thread, watching it all disappear while waiting on hold to GCC)

Was that one or more J seats ADL-DOH? I too am hoping to reduce segments and taxes this coming september by changing to QR to from Oz but not more than one J award seat showing.
