Yeah - good point. I guess I have spent way too much in DOM lounges recently that even in the F lounge I am a bit twitchy.

As nice as the F lounge is I think five hours would be a bit much for me...

I scheduled ~4 hours First lounge time back in June when I had BNE-SYD-WLG flights. By about 2 hours I was thinking where I could go as I was extremely bored.

Last month I was flying SYD-HKG and was planning to spend about 90 minutes in First Lounge and as it worked out I was late and managed to stretch the time spent to ~45 minutes. Perfect time to spend and not get bored with surroundings.

Why anyone would want to spend this long in a lounge is truly beyond me, this is exactly why over time QF cuts the qos because the privilege is being abused.
Surely if you are spending more than 30 minutes in a lounge then you are seriously miss timing your travel plans.

Each to their own, but I'd suggest that any who can squeeze a massage and a one/two course meal into 30 minutes is not really having a relaxing time pre-flight.

conversely if you only spend 30mins you obv have rocks in your head and are wasting your precious elite status!

Any why is that so? 30 minutes may be great for you, but not for others.

Just as an update- everything worked very well on Friday and had more than two courses plus a lovely facial in the Spa. I've posted an extensive report with images in the trip report section, together with my Emirates flight back if anyone is interested.

Nice one Berlin.
I'll be taking the EK flight AKL-SYD in a couple of weeks, so much cheaper than QF at the time of booking. However returning back to AKL a day later I'll be back on QF as there's no way I'm missing out on the wonderful land that the FL truly is
