Give me a buzz closer to the time, free at this stage ; hockey training normally finishes around 7.15pm.

What's with you Perth people :?: Lindsay and I come for a visit and you all leave town :!:

I'm not  karens is still working out her plans, she may be there for dinner.

Taking her time getting organised, like most women :!:

I suppose now is a good time for me to duck for cover   ;)

It's not so much taking my time getting organised than waiting for work to tell me the details for my trip to Cairns which is apparently on the 18th....

I would have thought with all your (years of) experience with women straitman, that you wouldn't have to be making comments forcing you to continually duck for cover.

I don't get it?? Why is meeting a MOD such a important event??

the thread makes it sound like the queen is coming??

Just how it reads...........

Fresh from saving the financial fortunes of those in the eastern states one of our esteemed Moderators, Lindsay Wilson, is heading to Perth to attempt to sort out a few of the Sand Gropers. An impossible mission you may say BUT LW is in for the challenge :!:

Lindsay has expressed an interest in a Chinese Dinner so I have suggested a Dinner/Steam Boat at '
Dragon Seafood Chinese Restaurant, Northbridge'

Date: Monday 15th March.

Expressions of interest of who might attend are invited.

Do we have a time yet? Can anyone attach a Outlook Calendar reminder file? :)

Because it is Perth and all of the Moderators and admin live East Coast. For some member who aren't as frequent a flyer as some on this BB, it is an excellent way to meet a Moderator (to find out we are just like them)as well as other members in their city. Some people like anonimity, however others want to meet other members of the community. Friendship and more have been known to happen after AFF meetings ;).

I'm no Queen (well, not in that sense :o) and I leave that regal standing to those born into it, or my wife - I am quite down to earth (IMHO). I'm sure others will beg to differ :p

YMMV markjb, however since I first started these a couple of years ago, I have met a number of members - Flashware, StevePER and oz_mark - this way in Perth. Going out for a drink/meal at night also may make it easier for visting and local alike, a convivial atmosphere talking flying. similarly, I have met other PER members like v8Statesman - in BNE when he was visiting.

straitman, mrs straitman and I could have simply got together for a social drink on Monday night. But we would rather increase the community spirit that thrives on this Board.

For those that want to be involved next Monday night - I can also think of reggie and thewinchester who are PER locals - please consider coming along. I've also invited seat_4D from FT who may be able to come.

I have appts until 5pm on St Georges Terrace, then need to get a taxi back to CP Perth to pick up my baggage, onto IC Burswood to check-in and then then onto Northbridge.

So I would expect ~6pm would be a decent starting time (those that want to get there earlier can start on the beverages).

I have no idea how to attach an Outlook Calendar reminder file.

I may be able to help with the transport again, Lindsay. It's pretty much on my way home. What a novel idea, finishing work for the day at 5pm, a good excuse to get out of the office on time:!:
