Meet me in the SQ Lounge thread

JohnK you are in Gold Lounge from 1am til 8am? Why didn't you book a room at short time hotel?
At one stage I had entertained thoughts of going to Casino for a few hours. I think the transit hotel was >$120 for the 6 hour block which is too much to pay for a few hours sleep.

I've found breakfast offering in T 2 Gold lounge better than in T3. But T3 G lounge more spacious and quieter if/when nodding off.. Following CE's comment, the Ambassador Transit is great option priced in $SGD/close to $AUD but busym and needs booking well in-advance.. Happy startups tomorrow JohnK, Cheers, PJ

$80 last time I used it
Not when I checked. And the F1 grand prix this weekend has taken care of hotel prices even in Geylang.

I'm on the SQ A380 in economy later this morning to HKG and then QF 747 in business home to SYD later in the evening. Rushed planning didn't quite work out the way I wanted.

Of course F1 weekend - it's a right royal PITA - I flew back from USA with SQ one year and then had to back track to China - had to o/n in SIN - could not gat a room under 1K - actually slept on a bench in SIN T3.

Nothing at the Ambassador Transit Hotel?

FWIW, you can sleep in the F lounge, but not the TPR as it closes for approx 3 hrs.

Nope all 3 ambassadors booked - TBH I don't really recall what cabin I was in - certainly not F - J lounge on T3 has benches down far back end - I have slept on those too - NFI why I ended up in terminal but I still know exactly which bench it was too.

Hello Duffa and Cruiser Elite

I am a real Newbie at all of this so am unsure whether what I am going to request is appropriate or not. After several years of planning and saving we are finally going to take that bucket list APT river cruise in Europe with another couple. Goes without saying we have no status left after retiring. And this is going to be our first time flying SIA since QF has been our usual airline. So we are off MEL- SIN on October 5th on SQ 218 followed by SQ 26 the same day ( 23.55). Any chance do you think of someone being able to guest us into one of the lounges? Melbourne prior to the flight would be nice but Singapore between flights would be nicer still. Any lounge would do - especially since the layover between the two flights is 18 hours.

Please forgive if my request is inappropriate.

All the best

Margaret

Oh such a shame!

My wife and I are in Singapore that day, but leaving the following day, 6th October. Will have access to TPR if anyone is around!

Just in the HKG lounge now and I must say – very impressed! I was somewhat disappointed by the SYD refit (mainly due to size; views are great), but this lounge is beautiful. Still very quite so not sure what it's like during peak times, but seems big enough.

I'm sitting one of the cubicles. Weird little things but pretty private and comfortable.

This lounge gets a tick from me. Looking forward to seeing some of the design elements appearing in SIN.

EDIT: I'm here 'til around 6 if by chance there's another AFFer in the building looking to be guested.
