The problem with that was the lack of space for a group our size, the temperature (they don't have aircon) and the fact I wore the cost of a few less honest people's drinks.

I can happily accept the same place however there are so many great places that I would try another personally.
IMHO last year was a good though not great venue.

I am not sure we could find anywhere else at the same price. Assuming we can get a similar deal again.

The options for the week before were limited - and expensive.

At this early stage, Silver/Gold for me. I can probably book a flexible/refundable room but ticket prices at that time of the year always hurt. Then again, with my re-qualification for WP happening so quickly already, perhaps I might be aiming for P1 again by then and need all the SC I can find

sorry but hotels were far more expensive thr week before. And it's been held on the 23rd before.

I'm looking into another venue at the moment, will update when confirmed.

I agree but on this occasion it works for me as the preceding week I'll be in Fiji.

Unlikely for me with young family and too close to Christmas although you never know may actually go BNE-SYD via MEL.

Going to be extremely difficult for me to attend this year's as it's too close to Christmas. I'm flying out on Christmas day and would be expected to cover off all the family Christmas obligations beforehand.

Actually the Sofitel is more expensive for the 23rd ($264) vs 16th ($259)...Just saying ...its not much , but still cheaper.
