After a day of travelling to the event, I'm not sure my champagne will be cold. What's the plan to chill the bottles before we start drinking?

Really!?

I was hoping to do my usual and catch the Broadmeadows train... is this not going to be possible?

Not between 10 and 2 you wont be able to...

Are Trams part of the strike?

Event Update - the following classes of people are forbidden to attend:

  • UBER riders
  • TATTOO wearers

Organiser's directive will be final - no correspondence will be entered into!

So some advice for a certain pair of 'young uns' who have expressed a desire to attend - 'Don't be afraid to actually turn your phones off and talk to each other instead of SMSing each other across the table all night'!

Oh al-right. I'll refrain from texting penegal... :p

I was thinking of frocking up for this most auspicious occasion.

Mainly because its been a helluva long time since I had an excuse to frock up.

So I'm uninvited? Guess I'll enjoy the Ayala at home on my own then :-|

Yes they are.

Strike ends at 2pm so trams should be running well again by 6pm.

For the benefit of out-of-towners, from CBD, take a #16 in Swanston Street or #96 in Bourke Street to Fitzroy Street, get off at "Stop 133 Canterbury Road & Fitzroy Street" Topolino's is almost immediately on the left as you face outbound. The Novotel was mentioned upthread - it's opposite "Stop 136 The Esplanade".

TramTracker is a useful little app for iphone or android to help predict next tram etc..

They are warning that delays may persist into the evening peak as they clear the backlog. Hopefully we have more luck getting there compared with last time.

Absolutely no excuse bc - you two can weave your way in and out through the traffic on this little baby without a problem:

And better still on the way home after Tommy has had a skinful you can sit behind him and just go 'Mush - Mush' - i'll throw in a free whip too if you desire:

You'll be home before penegal get's through tellin' us how good he is!

I don't think she was talking about uber.

Oooh, do you sell those crops Cruiser? I'm, uh, I'm asking for a friend:rolleyes:

I couldn't see Louis Auger on the list so I'll buy that when I get to Melbourne on Friday.
As it's a cheap-ish bottle, I'm also bringing this.
The truth is, I need something else to drink to ensure I walk out of the restaurant alive at the end of the night but there'll be plenty to share as I'm a hopeless drinker.

I have booked table for 19:00 (7pm) - I need to confirm total attending on Thursday - pls let me know if you are either:
1. On the list and won't be attending
2. Not on the list and do intend on attending

As I stated above T-4 until bounce of the ball which means it is T-4-1 hour until Goodonya pipes up and says 'Gee I missed this thread - can I come along too?'
