As alluded to earlier on, unfortunately I cannot make this evening of bacchanalian debauchery, at least definitely not for a feed. I may be able to (hopefully) drop in a little later, possibly sans champagne as I'll have my car if I do, but I'll just a grab a drink from the bar. I know you were so looking forward to the Great Western I was bringing along, have to save it till next time. :)

Just a heads up to attendees tomorrow evening: the tram stoppage has also been cancelled - all trams will be running as normal tomorrow. All public transport in Melbourne will be running as (ab)normal.

Our state Labor government has asked their union mates to stop the strike action to avoid disruptions to MEL CAN II.

Therefore I am back to "Plan A". I will put my Champagne in the fridge at work and jump on the 96 tram outside the office when work finishes.

Unfortunately the meeting I am presenting at hasn't been cancelled so I will miss out on seeing Lawless at the writer's festival.

If I take the Broadmeadows route, how will I meet up with you before the event?

Or does someone want to meet up with me before the event is a better way of saying that! :p

I land just after 1pm and was probably going to use some Arrivals access ;)

Use of mobile phones is permitted before the event to arrange meet ups and transport, but it is frowned upon DURING the event.

I will bring a bottle of red for you, but it may not last that long with this lot.

It won't be from Champagne, but perhaps Barossa, Coonawarra, McLaren Vale or even Margaret River...

OK dudes final list of attendees that will be posted by yours truly:

I believe above is reasonably accurate - if not well that's life.

So how does one take notes then? No one uses a pen and paper anymore...

We can test our memories.....should be interesting after a few tastings ;)

As I stated above T-4 until bounce of the ball which means it is T-4-1 hour until Goodonya pipes up and says 'Gee I missed this thread - can I come along too?'

T-7hours. 'Gee I missed this thread - can I come along too?' :shock:I was going to come along and claim that missing prawn from last time but alas I will not be attending.
I fortunately, or unfortunately, have managed to qualify for the Quarter Finals of the Men's Matchplay Championship at my golf club and the match is tomorrow morning which can't be changed.
After careful thought I decided I couldn't do the match justice with a belly full of champers. Probably only JohnK would understand my predicament :(

Anyway I know everyone will have a great night. Look forward to MELCAN III.

This will be another missed event that I would love to have been able to attend.

Have a great evening

Apologies ... I did register, but have been ill the last few days .. on antibiotics, which means no drinking :-(

You guys have fun :-)
