Look for the group who don't look like they've been to the Flemington that day - starting up rather than tapering off as it were.

Those attending come from a wide cross section of humanity; "airplane" noise not withstanding.

It is with regret that I am no longer able to attend the dinner and drinks.

+1 has arranged something else for me and as I have been away every weekend for the past 6 and with multiple trips to Asia planned in the next 6 weeks..... I think I need to spend some time with him.

FWIW, the price of the Hilton South Wharf has dropped from well over $350 down to $235 flex, $224 if in RACV/AAA etc.

Premium club get an additional $45+ off the rate.

Note this price is for "1 Adult", but HHonors members can have "Spouse Stay Free" as long as it's not an inclusive rate (e.g. breakfast)

Nice to catch up with old friends and meet a couple of new ones (and sorry a few had to bail late in the piece - stuff happens)!

Most impressed with the restaurant...will definitely be going back based on last night's performance.

Thanks munitalP for suggesting it, serfty for organising it, and the serftys for post-dinner soiree and drinks in their Hilton South Wharf room.
