In this evenings fun and games the AA codeshares on QF metal SYD-LAX were going for US$576 or SYD-JFK for only $639. Only $63 to fly across the U.S. return! Amazing! I was looking at Jan 2016 dates.

Given these have appeared through the AA booking system, it will be interesting to see if there is a similar outcome?

Will both parties come out and say this has all been a brilliant marketing ploy for their strengthened relationship?

Time for some sleep, let's see what tomorrow brings!

For those on the hunt, very little price increase if departing from MEL. Also spotting until Easter 2016 minus obvious peak times... just wish I could book on an AA operated SYD-LAX flight and make use of my AA status (it's still waiting regulatory approval)!

Still at $AUD750 which is a few hundred more than earlier in the week but still a great fare.

Plus for those without freq flyer status that gives them lounge access, booking the AA marketed flights allows them to purchase the Admirals Club 30 day membership and thereby use QP's in Australia prior to travelling on a flight booked as an AA marketed flight.

It appears Qantas have backflipped as they have cancelled my flights to LA via Expedia. It has also been removed from my bookings on the Qantas site. I got as a far as confirmed seats as well.

Was this .com or .com.au Expedia you had booked on?

First or second round?

Can you confirm you were charged for the tickets (ie they hit your credit card?). Or was it simply a reservation without ticket?

If you had a ticket, I'd call qantas to find out what happened. They can check the booking to see the history.

For the tickets sold on Wednesday, I was charged for the tickets and was on my credit card. I had the e-ticket.

It was through .com only

I had called them on Thursday to confirm the tickets at the time and it was all there as I spoke to the lady.
