Re: MEL AP-Car park that's as big as a suburb

what happens if flight is delayed and you get to your car 2 hours past booking time?
According to the T & C's you get 2hr grace - over that - NFI - call them and ask - they will have ready access to all flight details so if it is bona fide delay you prolly ok - but you will need to get that from horses mouth.

Cool thanks!!!!! Booking short term carpark now for $137 for 9 days, cheaper than the long term undercover carpark @$200.

I find a good practice is to book for the longest possible time allowed for the rate you are paying; if paying for 10 days, book for 9 days 23 hours, so as to allow for any delays. I don't just book based on my "expected" arrival time.

Re: MEL AP-Car park that's as big as a suburb

I'm waiting to see my amex statement.. i pre-paid for $59 for 2 days but when i checked the receipt on leaving it said $115! lets see what actually gets billed before i complain..

Was within 30 mins of the times i quoted (arrived at the car park 20mins after and left 30 mins prior)...

I've prepaid about 12 trips over the past 90 days, I should really check my statements as this thread has me concerned!

I have prepaid 5 visits since I started this thread - ALL have have been perfect - of course YMMV.

Just another reason I use off-site airport parking. It's a lot cheaper, the service is excellent (They know me by name) and so long as I'm either back the same calendar day, or explain i'm a day late due to a flight delay, there's no charge.

I appreciate it may be slower than on-site parking, but with the massive site of MAP's long term area, it's not much. I have often called for my shuttle to pick me up and have it arrive before i've seen any sign of the long term parking bus come by.

Re: MEL AP-Car park that's as big as a suburb

How much do you guys pay for these off-site parking facilities?

With the pre-pay you get up to 10days for $69 do you not? I have not waited for a bus to or fro in like 8 years or so - it's only a 5min walk and always carts available - and I have never gotten wet in maybe 100 visits.

I used the multi level long term car park this weekend gone as it was an easy stroll. Will do that again this weekend if I decide to drive..

I swap between them depending on which is cheaper; much of a muchness really. The only downside of the off-site parking is that they always move my seat!

On a recent 9 day trip the Long Term Carp Park (prepaid) was about half the price of offsite parking. There was a phenomenal deal on short term under cover but I couldn't justify the premium.

Still waiting for someone to show me off-site cheaper than on-site PP.

Something fishy about that place. ;)
