Hi all, American here planning my first-ever trip to Australia.
On my return trip back to the US, the first leg is MEL-SYD on Virgin, then SYD-LAX on Delta. The entire trip was booked on Delta's website. A couple of questions:
1. When I get to the Melbourne airport, I assume I go to the domestic terminal and check in at the Virgin counter there? Anywhere specific I should be going?
2. Since I'm changing carriers in Sydney, will I need to pick up my luggage there and recheck it with Delta, or can Virgin check it all the way through to my final destination?
3. Is it possible to select a seat for my Virgin flight? The Delta site says seat selection has to be done through Virgin, but to even view the trip on Virgin's site, I need a booking reference number, which Delta did not give me. Since I'm outside of Australia, I cannot make a Velocity account.

Thanks y'all :)

At MEL T3 go to a manned service desk. They'll want to see your passport in order to issue the DL boarding pass.

It should be checked through.

Call Delta and ask for the VA PNR.
