Friday - bloody Friday ... tough night for me ... midweek is far better ...

Anway I could hit crown for a few ales from 5pm til 7pm - then my shoes turn into jandles or something as I'm off to NZ the next day ...

Is there a weekend where you don't go to New Zealand. ;)

It is a bit far to go for a drink.

Good Post!

I think the sports bar at the casino is a good place to start - from there who knows where the night will end!

Okay, start at the sports bar, with a planned second stop at Eighteen-O-Six. After that, who knows. :p

Already booked my flights, but if you can turn up that'd be great :)

Fair bit of a walk from Crown to 1806 (cnr Exhibition and Bourke), but it's an easy cab ride. Lots of cabs outside Crown. If people are happy to share cabs it shouldn't be an issue and will be cheaper than individual tram tickets. :)

BTW the +1 is coming along with me. :D

You never know, you might need the walk to appear sober for the next stop ;)

I've updated post #1 with attendees.

The "Sports Bar" is right in the guts of the ground level gaming floor on the South side with the "the largest screens in the Southern Hemisphere". The first floor has a sort of Atrium looking across/down onto the screens.

Find the screens and you have it.

Which side is the "South side"? Village Cinemas? Or Prada?

edit: Or is the bar in the actual casino area itself?

You forgot to add a "+1" next to QF009. No worries though, still a month out.

I'm sure I'll be able to find my way there. Only 16 bars to check before I hit the right one. :p

Enter either end of the Casino - If through the Hotel end it's ~150 metres down on your left. Of course, it's ~150 metres down on your right if you enter from Clarendon St.

Ahh yes, looking forward to it. I might have a look for a backpackers to stay the night at too, depending on the weather.
