Hi all

Xin nian kuai le!

2010 - the year of the tiger (Lao Hu) beer ;)

So, on that note, I propose our first Friday night drinks at Lagerfield bar @ crown...

A very nice bar opposite Jeffs shed (MEL Exhibition Centre), reasonable prices, public transport at the door, easy parking (and secure if you leave the car overnight) and importantly - quiet enough to converse at normal tones!

From there I would like to suggest dinner for those wishing to attend at HuTong - the latest and presumably the best Taiwan Dumplings available in Australia - a big call IMHO while Din Tai Fung exists...

It's the FT AGM this w/end, so your participant list may be a little less than expected...

I think you are reading it as 19 Feb 2010; when it really is a month away.

Yes I know you don't like Brisbane that much but 2 cancellations from you in the last month very disappointed.

Bah. I'm not on my A-Game at present that's for sure. I saw 19th and just assumed it was this friday.

I'm crawling back into my box now...

(and cancellations were due to circumstances beyond my control, I've got someone collecting the stash from you though this w/end and thanks again for getting it for me).

And due to the fact I still have no idea if i'll be in the USA in March or not (I'm meant to be there for 2-3 weeks of March, but work's not made any decisions on what's happening yet), I can't confirm despite looking at said largerfield bar from reception (I'm directly opposite it).

I can possibly make it if the 2 lovely birds in the picture are there and the drinks prices are actually reasonable based on a normal person's interpretation of reasonable. ;)

For you my good friend, I will move heaven and earth to get them there...

Actually, the drinks are pub prices - Notzac and I bent our arms there before Xmas and I was surprised at the prices, so surprised I have been back a few times now... its a good bar!

Let me know your flight details and I'll pick you up at tulla :)

Mr!

:)

Agreed, it's about on par with regular bar prices - not quite as cheap as a local corner pub, but no where near as expensive as some places I can think of.. :)

Anyone need a lift from Tulla in Mercedes-Benz comfort let me know!

I'd just realised that 19th March is the night before my graduation ceremony (which is happening at the wee hours of 1030 in the morning on the 20th) and I'm joining my parents for a celebratory dinner!

I'll still be there, it'll just have to be a quick one for me this time. Sorry!
