Memorabilia

I'm in the UK and one or two companies have started actively marketing aircraft parts to collectors.

I bought some economy seats from G-VAST (Virgin Atlantic 744) and a flight deck escape hatch from G-CIVY (BA 744)

The prices weren't really that bad and shipping was free. A few years ago I paid a lot more for a US Airways 734 over wing exit.

From what I've found so far, Delta and a couple of other US carriers have them, other airlines including BA have done them in the past - usually just featuring their fleet

You are supposed to go up to the pilot and ask for them - the pilot has to carry stocks of them in his/her pocket for such purposes, Americans like this sort of thing. I think they have something similar where you can ask sojers for challenge coins - if you find one who is not burning your village.
