I've just gone ahead an opened a Amex Platinum Business Card and also have a personal Amex Explorer card with over 1.3M Gateway Rewards points. I intend on keeping the Explorer card - but would prefer to only have one rewards account (ideally Ascent Premium).

I've seen posts in the past saying that you could get Amex to transfer the points between the programs and link the Explorer card to earn Ascent points - however I am wondering if this is still possible as the Amex rep that I spoke has informed they two separate reward programs.

Does anyone know if this is still possible?

Someone from AFF said explorer can - i personally didnt try for explorer but for essential rewards(which is also gateway) and it does not allow. Says two seperate rewards program

It took 3 phone calls (Amex Platinum business team didn't want a bar of it) however calling the team that look after the Explorer personal card they were able to make it happen. The points were transferred over at 1:1 without any devaluation.

This is good news. Pretty much all MR in Aus can be under ascent premium though

I can provide a reference point;

Had the AMEX Explorer card and recently opened the Platinum charge card.

First chat session online the rep said no its not possible. Left it a week and tried again, and the rep said instantly that its possible to merge, and to wait 7-10 days for this process to happen.

2 days later my account was merged.
