got the email wishing you a merry Christmas? tried to click on the link for your personalized e-card?

it requires flash player and doesn't work on iPhones or iPads!!

is there just a huge misconnect at the PR department??

(ps ... qantas... don't waste money sending out the same e-card to us all by post... put the money towards the international operations losses... our Christmas present to you!! :))

Sorry i'm confused.. What are you complaining about?
An e-card via post, pretty much impossible!

I remember Steve Jobs blaming Qantas for flash as well, just like you

errr no... Im saying the e-card doesn't open without flash.

and like the recent double points reminder, we all got it sent by email... then AGAIN by post. all I was saying... don't bother sending the contents of the e-card (printed out, obviously) by post to everyone... just save the money...

I'm not blaming qantas for the lack of flash... just if you are going to bother sending it out, you'd you'd bear in mind that many people are using iPhones or iPads...

Apart from the switch, does the card actually do anything? It's just a blinking tree and some music...

I actually wanted to book a flight because of it, but the Qantas logo doesn't click to the QF site... Oh well... :D

Nonetheless, thank you for the card.

I'm assuming alot of members would have expired emails and also don't check their emails weekly, could be a possible reason why QF sent a letter out too.

As personalised as OPEN STANDARD TEMPLATE <insert name from Database> MERRY CHRISTMAS!!

can get...

You can opt out of printed promotional material in your profile.

Works fine for me, but then again I haven't been drinking the Apple flavoured Koolaid..

Cheers

Timmi

Worked for me, although really I do want to go to QF and ask for those 30 seconds of my life back...

Here I was expecting something more than changing letters eventually spelling out my name then placing it onto a Christmas tree in such small font that you need a magnifying glass to see it (at least they provided one for you  ).

I personally think the idea of sending Christmas e-cards to everyone on a database is very tacky. A much nicer gesture would have been sending out a proper Christmas card via good ole snail mail. Keeping it simple (aka don't plaster the logo all over it) would do far more than sending standard templates in email form.

(a) Why is my name in the middle of the tree? Don't they know who I am? I should be at the top!
(b) I see Jackeline is sitting between Jacqeline and I. I hope she is is a platinum member as there does appear to be vacant spots further down the tree.

I would have thought the Apple mob would have come to terms with the lack of flash by now???For all the rest of us that went with something a bit fuller featured the e-card is probably a nice touch... Maybe Jobs replacement will think to put it in the next model... Or the one after that...

I'm not feeling very loved at the minute :( :(
I couldn't open it on my iPhone and managed to crank open the IE on the creaky old work laptop, eventually log onto the clunky bigpond website and finally open the card to learn it's been sent to:
my 6yr old NB daughter
I'm still recovering from the shock and will now have to leave work early
:D :D ;)

Don't panic if you can't open the flash video, it isn't the best one they've made. Nevertheless, it's a nice touch from Qantas. :)

When I opened it on my MBA this morning, it used up all of my ram, and the computer became hot and laggy. This flash clip uses a hell of a lot of system resources.

I much prefered the video clip they made last year:

now if they had ued that clip with the baggage trolleys spelling out 'merry christmas' on the tarmac after the plane had left that would have been creative and a bit of fun!

(sent from my PC)

Sooooo... basically you're saying it's Qantas' fault that you purchased from a litigious company who deliberately hobbles their products in an attempt to control the market?:lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol:

Caveat Emptor!

Works fine on my Samsung Galaxy SII...
