We could start an AFF version,a member leaves a note inside an inflight magazine and posts the details here, the member who finds it posts that here too but doesn't post the details of the flight they found it one, only that they have continued the chain, perhaps there could be a space for a member to sign their name to indicate that they have read it,would be a great way to get people to read inflight magazines!and it wouldn't have to be restricted to domestic flights either.
Cheers

There is a FlyerTalk game that goes on in United's Inflight Mag. Each flyer leaves their FlyerTalk tag and the website address in the mag for each sector they fly. The goal is to attract new people to the site and to connect existing ones.

tuppaware's flight was BNE-MEL but the note was written enroute SYD-ADL but yes the aircraft may well have been a 737 as it was operating BNE-MEL
So assuming aircraft has gone SYD-ADL-BNE-MEL then definitely a 737 and there is every chance it could be 737-400 as well.

This sounds like a good idea.

I'm going to write a note and put it in the magazine on my next flight (12/3 on JQ unfortunately) and put an e-mail on it (I'll make one just for this), just to see if I get a reply.

I'm very curious about things like this!

You won't get an email from me. ;)

What if you found the note and sent an email to yourself? ;) Now that would be very interesting. :p

As it is BNE-MEL it is more than likely a 737 and sounds like the person was sitting in 4F in economy.

IT was a 737-400 so the first 3 rows were J and row 4 was Y. I think the person was saying how they didnt think the price difference between y and J was worth it on the 734!! Which I would agree with.

I did leave an ongoing message for the next person, but I didn't take a photo.
It said how ' I was hoping for op-up but QF fairy didn't shine down on me'.

Thats cool tuppaware...

I was about to point out that the note writer said "in economy we got a muffin" as opposed to "they got a muffin", so based on my very limited knowledge of seating configurations and the fact it was said row 4, I determined it was Y - funny how others missed this....

Im flying MEL/BNE/MEL tomorrow and am going to leave a note tucked into the IFM. Will do the same MEL/SYD on Saturday - can anyone suggest a theme that the notes should follow?

This is neat thing to do!!

I can add an email [email protected] and post responses if we want to go down that path!

Is the price difference really worth it on any domestic service? Even Skybed on SYD/MEL-PER is not worth the difference in airfare. I guess to each their own.

Sorry munitalP but we did not miss it. Have a look at post #10. ;)

Not necessarily, the writer does say "In economy we got a muffin" so maybe travelling in J was unusual ?

Nah I disagree, the note was written present tense all the way - why referring to a muffin, would the writer suddenly revert to a past tense statement in the middle of a present tense note? Anyway, we know the PAX was in Y :)

You are entitled to disagree but that does not make you right. There is nothing wrong with switching from present tense to past tense when writing a note, a post, or telling some a story or a lie. ;)

If I am sitting in an aircraft towards the end of a flight and write a note for someone then I will say 'In economy we got a muffin' as it is now no longer a present tense event but rather something that has happened in the past.

I think you should include an easy question that everyone will know the answer to,eg "How many weeks in a year" that way the person who finds the note can post the answer here and you will know that someone really has found your note, they can then either leave the note where they found it if they don't have an onward flight,or they can put in on a totally different aircraft if they wish,we should be able to keep a running total of how far the note has been carried over a certain period of time,it would give us a great indication of how much air travel influences our lives.

Is it worthwhile attempting to find a page similar to 'voices' in The Australian Way (hereafter known as TAW) Magazine?

This would be a good thing to start on QF. I'm happy to keep a track of it in a similar way to how 'goalie' in the UA forum does.

Would be kinda cool to see (and a good way of spreading the AFF word *puts name badge on white shirt with black tie ;)).

"Excuse me sir, but can I talk to you about AFF?"

Anyone interested or has it been done already?

I can see how AFF may well be considered a religion.... er cult.... sometime in the future....

This is great.
Similar to the - Admirals Club Treasure Hunt (drink chits, etc.) master thread
Admirals Club Treasure Hunt (drink chits, etc.) master thread - FlyerTalk Forums

Pretty neat , happy to leave notes , or everyone should write our "www.australianfrequentflyer.com.au" on a price of paper and create a thread specifically for people who find it , that way we know where the note has reached and we should have a few basic rules

Every note must have an expiry date as in at the end of every month as before it gets thrown out , only on authorized person can leave a note once a month and see where it ends up

Just thinking out loud

Sent from my iPhone using AFF Mobile

Here's me thinking that we would get an idea of how many miles the note has travelled but I have just realised that probably the majority of flights are not going to have an AFF member on them however it will still be fun to see how many AFF members "cross paths" at the end of the month.
